Screen Actors Guild strike status
Monday, December 22nd, 2008 | 92 commentsThis post contains news on a Screen Actors Guild strike that may take place in 2009.
UPDATE: “Citing division among its membership, the Screen Actors Guild delayed a vote that would authorize the union to call a strike and bring the entertainment business to a halt. SAG announced Monday it would delay sending out ballots until Jan. 14 at the earliest, after the union’s national board holds an emergency meeting. The union initially planned to send strike authorization ballots to more than 100,000 union members on Jan. 2, a date that would have put Oscar night within reach of a potential boycott.” Full article

Jenna and Rainn’s new projects
Friday, December 19th, 2008 | 6 commentsFrom Variety:
“The Office” stars Rainn Wilson and Jenna Fischer have been moonlighting outside of their Dunder Mifflin cubicles.
Wilson has partnered with scribe Adam Braff to create “Hump Tulips,” a single-camera laffer about a lawyer who winds up in a small Washington town in pursuit of the woman he loves. Braff and Wilson will write and exec produce.
Fischer, meanwhile, will serve as the nonwriting exec producer on an hourlong comedic drama about a lumber salesman who solves a crime and becomes a private eye, along with a ragtag group of pals.

He was great — he came out with a band that included his brother Christopher. At one point, the band even played the opening music from The Office and then Kate Flannery got up on stage and sang with him and his band. It turned out that Kate and Oscar Nunez were in the audience. I was able to grab photos with each of them and they couldn’t have been nicer.”
