Steve Carell on Aisle Five

Friday, July 31st, 2009 | 6 comments

A lovely story from Boston Magazine about The Office’s Steve Carell:

For years, celebrities—like the guys from Aerosmith—have flocked to Marshfield to fade into the idyll of this South Shore hamlet. But ever since Steve Carell bought the old general store, the townsfolk have been in an uncharacteristic tizzy.

Ellie Kemper is a comic to watch

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009 | 7 comments

Variety has named The Office’s Ellie Kemper (“Erin”) a comic to watch. Here’s an excerpt from her profile:

Ellie Kemper isn’t quite used to the idea that, as of this fall, she’ll be a series regular on one of her favorite shows, “The Office.”

“Being on set is surreal because it’s so familiar to you from TV, and now you’re in it,” muses Kemper, who plays Dunder Mifflin’s naive new receptionist, Erin. “The Internet is actually hooked up, so I sent an email to my mom that said, ‘I’m at Pam’s desk right now!’ It’s unbelievable.”

Mindy Kaling is a screenwriter to watch

Variety has named The Office’s Mindy Kaling a screenwriter to watch. Here’s an excerpt from her profile:

Most recognized for her own performance on TV’s “The Office” as the chatty, needy Kelly Kapoor, Kaling says she’s increasingly identifying herself as a writer and a performer. “It comes from this impatience that I just wrote this and now I want to see it on its feet,” she says.

The Office

Status

Aug 2: the contest is now closed to new entries. It may take me a week to finish reading all the entries and picking my top 20. Thanks for your patience!

Task

Your task is to write a summary of The Office Season 6 premiere, entitled ‘Gossip.’

You must write it in the style of an official NBC summary, which means it must include a lead-in phrase in ALL CAPS, followed by a small paragraph. It must also be intriguing while also being maddeningly vague.

The entry that achieves the best balance of credibility, intrigue, and vagueness wins an exclusive Schrute Farms Beets Watch, courtesy of the NBC Store!

Rainn Wilson has commemorated the occasion.

Angela Kinsey wrote in her MySpace blog yesterday: “We go back to work on The Office for Season 6 tomorrow! We are all really excited to go back to work. You would never know that it’s our 6th year. We all still get giddy and know how great we have it.”

The table read for the premiere episode happened last Thursday.

How is everyone?! It has been SO long since I said hi. Okay… where do I start? How is every one’s summer going? May and June were all about reconnecting with family and friends for me and of course having some sweet sweet time with my lil’ gal. There is nothing better than hanging with Ms. Izzy.
