Toast to JAM!

Another cool graphic by Matt Collins

Jim and Pam’s wedding is probably the most anticipated episode of The Office ever. We’ve watched their relationship develop for five seasons and now that they’re finally getting married, I thought it was time for all of us to get in on the celebration!

UPDATE: the contest is now closed. You’ll be able to vote for your favorite finalists later today!

Task

Your task is to create a video toast to Jim and Pam.

Make it funny. Make it heartfelt. Make it dramatic. Make it romantic.

Toast solo. Toast with your friends. Toast with complete strangers.

Pretty much anything goes!

To Jim and Pam. A toast to JAM!

Rules

  • Somewhere in your video, you must either say, sing, or display the words “Congratulations, Jim and Pam!”
  • Do not use any copyrighted audio, photos, video, or other material from The Office or anywhere else.
  • No other captioning, opening/closing credits, product/website pimpage, or other stuff like that allowed.
  • Keep it G-rated.
  • Two-minute maximum length per entry.
  • Aside from those restrictions, anything goes. Be creative! Go crazy!
  • One entry per person.
  • U.S. entries only, please.

  1. Record your toast to JAM.

  1. I will pick 20 or so finalists.

  1. Good luck to everyone, I can’t wait to watch yall’s toasts! (I don’t have a way to record video right now, so I’m sitting this one out)

  2. I will try to record my toasting vid tomorrow. I’ll just use my digital camera and do the best I can. Good luck to everybody participating!!!

  3. “U.S. entries only” Crap! I really wanted to get in on this!

[from tanster: sorry. :( i ship the prizes myself and don’t have the resources to ship outside the u.s.]

  4. The following video is disqualified because:
    1) It exceeds the 2-minute limit
    2) It includes captioning
    3) I created it

However, I wanted to show that if I could create a video and look like a complete dork, you can, too. :)

  5. Hey Tanster! Just was wondering if our Office Bobbleheads would fall under copyrighted material. Thanks!

[from tanster: using your Office Bobbleheads is fine. thanks for asking!]

  6. Tanster, does it have to be a toast in toast format? Or can it be a tribute we make to them following all of the guidelines? Because I am working on a very good video, however, it would not be considered a toast. It is 100% original, but I was wondering if it would be accepted.

[from tanster: no it doesn’t have to be a traditional toast. but it does need to say “congratulations jim and pam” somewhere in it. thanks!]

  7. [from tanster: please change your video from ‘private’ to ‘public’ on youtube, and then re-post by the deadline. thanks!]

  8. Are we allowed to use promotional pictures they’ve released, they would count as public wouldn’t they or are they counted as copyrighted?

[from tanster: no office photos unless you took them/own them. thanks!]
