Yes, Michael Schur IS Ken Tremendous

Who the heck is Ken Tremendous, you ask?

If you follow baseball, or if you just love snarky sports writing, then you may have heard of a blog called Fire Joe Morgan — “Where Bad Sports Journalism Comes To Die.” (NSFW for profanity)

It’s been called one of the best sports humor sites online. (Not by me, because I don’t know anything about baseball, but it has been said.)

One of the key contributors to FJM is a writer who goes by the name of Ken Tremendous.

Well yesterday, The Office’s own Michael Schur outted himself as that writer. How so much wicked funny can come out of one dude … well that is tremendous.

Write a letter (part 2)

Tonight I received this email from Michael Schur, writer and co-executive producer of The Office:

Hey tanster,

Saw this somewhere and thought TallyHeads might be into it.

This site, Firedoglake, has made it really easy to send emails to the companies on behalf of specific shows. I’d encourage them not only to do it for The Office, but for any show on any network they like and want to see come back.

Constant pressure on the networks is having an effect — and on advertisers, too. At least one large national company is considering pulling ads from shows because of pressure from consumers. (Unconfirmed but there’ve been a lot of rumors.)

Anyway, thought this might be something good for the site … as always, thanks.

If you wrote and sent a letter the first time around, you are a-w-e-s-o-m-e. Now it’s time to do it again. Tell those network execs to get back to the negotiating table!

Do it for The Office. Do it for Mose.

Happy Birthday, Jen and Mike!

The Office

No, they don’t have the same birthday.

Jennifer Celotta’s birthday is today; Mike’s birthday is actually October 29, but given the craziness of The Office Convention followed by the WGA strike, it completely slipped my mind. Mike, please publicly berate me at your earliest convenience.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Jen and Happy Belated Birthday to Mike!

Thanks for staying in touch with the fans during this difficult time. You guys rock!

P.S. Wow. I didn’t even give you guys your own separate birthday posts. I’ve turned into Jim.

Michael Schur and Jen Celotta visit the OTCR

The Office

It was an absolute thrill to welcome The Office’s co-executive producers and writers extraordinaire Michael Schur and Jen Celotta into the OfficeTally Chat Room tonight!

Aside from Mike mistaking Parker for a guy and Jen trying to type replies on a toaster, the chat went very well. They answered questions about the strike and the future of the show.

I talked to Mike afterwards, and he sounded totally pumped about the whole experience. Another chat is a definite possibility for the near future.

A full transcript of the chat after the jump. A few tiny spoilerish tidbits included.
