The Office wins two TCA awards!

The TCA (Television Critics Association) bestowed The Office with two awards tonight in Pasadena:

  • Outstanding Achievement in Comedy
  • Individual Achievement in Comedy, Steve Carell

Congratulations to the Office cast and staff! And it looks like almost the entire cast was in attendance, which must have made for some serious festivities …

Update, 7/27:

  • Here is an audio clip of Steve’s hilarious acceptance speech. Thanks to GMMR for the find!
  • GMMR’s posted a few pics from the event!
  • More TCA pics here, here, and here. (Thanks, Jill!)
  • More pics courtesy of txvoodoo at LiveJournal.
  • The Kansas City Star has more about Steve Carell’s and Greg Daniel’s funny acceptance speeches. (The scathing review that Steve reads is real.)
  • The San Francisco Chronicle’s Tim Goodman reports on the night’s events, including news on a possible guest spot on The Office?

The Break Room interviews Angela Kinsey

“Three average guys” from Frisco, Texas, talk to Angela Kinsey about a variety of Office-related topics, including:

  • Oscar’s talking-impaired moment in a future webisode involving the word “Seiko.” After about 18 takes, he finally nailed it.
  • Angela’s inability to keep a straight face during the bologna and ketchup sandwich scene from Michael’s Birthday.
  • More details on what’s going to be on the Season 2 DVD set, including the fact that almost every episode will include commentary!
  • And of course, no interview would be complete without a tantalizing little thought about Season 3 …

Listen to it here or download it from iTunes here. Nice job, guys!

Independence Day Tally

A few items:

  • New fan video: Pass That Dutch — a tribute to the Dunder Mifflin Dancers. I’ve also added this to our playlist.
  • I caught Angela and Brian (Kevin) goofing off!
  • Not exactly Office-related, but if you’re a Melora Hardin (“Jan”) fan, check out melora.com. Did you know she’s a singer? If you love this genre of music (which I definitely do), check out the audio clip Heaven and Earth, as well as a video montage of her songs. New episode idea: Jan serenades Michael while out on a date! Hmmm …

Happy 4th, everybody!

TV Guide podcast mentions The Office finale

I’ve been a regular TV Guide podcast listener since the beginning — the program is sharp, funny, occasionally ribald, and always entertaining.

But one thing I started to notice is that they hardly ever discussed The Office.

That is why I was happy when, on their special 50th podcast released yesterday, the TVG crew discussed The Office season finale (around minute 18).

Angel Cohn said it was the “best finale of the whole season” and “fabulous fun stuff.”

Daniel Manu said “I can’t imagine The Office finale not being my top three favorite of the season … possibly my top two.”

It wasn’t a unanimous verdict, however. Michael Ausiello said he liked the finale, but can’t stand Dwight, calling him “the low point of the show for me.” (HUH?!)

Check out the podcast here, it’s good fun! Other shows discussed: Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs, Will & Grace, Prison Break, Smallville, and That ’70s Show.

P.S. Check out one of TVG’s earliest podcasts, with special guest Jenna Fischer!

WKLH interviews John Krasinski

Milwaukee’s WKLH 96.5 radio interviewed John Krasinski (“Jim”) on Thursday.

John once and for all confirms that he is, indeed, the voice behind the Ask.com commercials!

Thanks to Andrea for the tip, who, by the way, is the same Andrea whose questions got asked at the beginning of the interview. Way to go!

The Joseph Podcast interviews Jenna Fischer

the office pam beesly jim halpert drug testing

Joseph and Joseph follow the success of their first celebrity interview (Angela Kinsey) with a nice long chat with Jenna Fischer!

If you watched Drug Testing last week and also hang out over at James’ Watercooler, you know how much I have been gushing over the “hi/hey” scene, where Pam brings Jim a soda to finally break him of the Jinx.

Jenna provides some juicy tidbits regarding the shooting of that scene, and I am proud to say, I was the one who furnished the question! Not only that, but I think the question was partly responsible for the podcast being tagged for “explicit” language. Hee hee.

That’s all I’m gonna say. Now go listen already! (The hi/hey stuff happens around minute 28.) Link no longer available.

The Joseph Podcast interviews Angela Kinsey

angela kinsey the office

First of all, what the heck is The Joseph Podcast?

The Joseph Podcast is the creation of two college dudes — both named Joseph — who have been friends since 7th grade and are huge fans of The Office. Their podcasts usually revolve around normal everyday things, but tonight, they scored a 23-minute phone conversation with Angela Kinsey (“Angela”)!

You can find the podcast here.

As usual, Angela is very charming and funny. I’m sure Joseph and Joseph would have talked all night with her if they could! ;)

And yours truly (“Jennie from Palo Alto” on the audio) even got to contribute a question: “Who is the chief prankster on the set, and what was the best prank?”

Good job guys! (And isn’t Angela the coolest?)
