Beth Grant: Dwight’s ‘Dinner Party’ date

The Onion’s A.V. Club interviews actress Beth Grant, who talks at length about her role as Dwight’s babysitter/date in The Office’s Season 4 episode, Dinner Party.

Here’s a snippet:

Greg Daniels, I worked with on King Of The Hill … He had seen No Country For Old Men and really liked it, and as soon as they went back to work, he called me to do the “Dinner Party” episode. The director won an Emmy; it was this great, great, dark episode … Their fight is so embarrassing to everyone concerned — and with Dwight bringing me as his date, who’s also his babysitter, it’s just sick!

She goes on to talk about what it was like working with Steve Carell and Rainn Wilson.

  1. Hearing guest stars gush over the Office cast never ever gets old :D She was hilarious as Dwight’s babysitter!

  2. She’s amazing! I honestly did not recognize her as the same actress from Little MIss Sunshine!

  3. A great interview (actually read the whole thing)! She’s just one of those faces you know, but I had no idea how accomplished she really is. And she’s responsible for my aunt’s favourite Office moment ever – when she and Dwight arrive at the Dinner Party together with the cooler full of food.
