B.J. and Jenna’s appearances

I’ve been told that B.J. Novak and Jenna Fischer are both making live appearances today in Los Angeles:

Please note that neither theatre lists B.J. or Jenna by name. I will try to get confirmation, but it may not be in time … if you attend and get to meet them, come back and post your report and/or photos!

  1. God. I’m in LA. I need to know where they are. I want to go, but I’m afraid I might see like, George Michael instead of Jenna Fischer. I’ve ALMOST met all the cast members too.

John/Rashida [I was an extra in The Job… the girl waving the cardigan to hail a taxi in New York? Yup, yours truly]

Office Convention [I saw pretty much everyone]

All I need are Jenna and BJ, basically. And Steve.

  2. LOL, KVH, they talk about you in the commentary, which I just watched. How coincidental.

Anyway, LA is in for a treat today. No fair for the Midwest.

  3. KVH, I remember seeing that episode and at first I thought it was Amy Adams from the Hot Girl episode hailing the cab! I laughed because I thought that was supposed to be a joke or something. When I got my dvd I listened to the commentary to find out if I was right! :) It sounds like a lot of fun to be an extra!

  4. KVH, I loved the dress you were wearing in that episode!!

I’ve been lucky enough to see the WHOLE writing staff at a restaurant here in L.A. That was awesome. And caught one of BJ’s standup acts in Hollywood. Would haved loved to see Jenna today though.

  5. Saw Jenna in Serial Killers’ Darque Magick sketch last night at Sacred Fools, and she was awesome. To be honest, the whole night was kind of weird. Serial Killers is a show where there are five sketches performed…some are originals, first episodes, or “pilots,” if you will, and others are installments of ongoing sketches. The first sketch of the night was terrible and offensive, and it was part of an ongoing series. The next one was a first episode, and it was okay, but really brief. But the last three were pretty hilarious.

Jenna was great in her sketch…it’s a tiny theatre, and it was so much fun to see her performing in such an intimate space. She has great timing, and the two friends I brought with me (who knew of her, but weren’t obsessive fans like me) both agreed that she’s become successful for a reason. She’s truly gifted with a great comedic talent.

  6. Just to finish up…Jenna’s self-deprecating and somewhat raunchy (but in a cute/funny/classy way) performance in the sketch was great. At one point she had a quarter bounced off her butt.

Perhaps the most exciting part of the night was before the show started, when my friends and I were standing outside in the cold, waiting to be let in (we got there extra early), and Jenna walked up to the front door of the theatre with a couple of other people…she waited outside with the rest of us for a few moments before going inside. For a little while she was just hanging out, standing like five feet away from me, but I didn’t say anything. I get all nervous/panicky around people who I love and admire so much, and I feel the need to “play it cool,” so I always chicken out whenever I have the chance to talk to them. Oh well.

I know Jenna would have been sweet and gracious if I’d had the balls to talk to her, but I didn’t. Just the same, it was an interesting and fun night…well worth the $5 price of admission. I’m so glad I went.
