  1. that has a vaguely ‘lost’ feel to it.

is it a spin-off? or a new branch of the company?

i guess we’ll learn in the second episode!

  2. That was weird. And I don’t want to wait till October 4th for answers.

This is going to bother me for a little while. I just want to know what it is!

  3. I’m just wondering how big “Infinity” will be. Is it a business model? A new sales department? An entire new electronic “branch”? How much power does Ryan hold at corporate?

I guess I’ll just have to wait and see like everyone else. ;)

  4. I guess all it’s only the logo so far. I think. But it seems it will be the new internet aspect of the company. Exciting!

  5. I don’t know what “Dunder Mifflin Infinity” means…but I’m kind of frightened. Love the use of the infinity symbol, though. :)

  6. I just viewed the source of the page (right click, view source) and it said, “Official Site of Dunder Mifflin Infinity, an online division of Dunder Mifflin, Inc. Paper Company” Hmmmm.

  7. I really should have put this all in one comment. Sorry. But in the view source it lists all of the keywords related to the site and includes “Ryan Howard”. Also included: dunder mifflin infinity, office 360, the office 360, online paper sales, dunder mifflin, dunder-mifflin, dundermifflin, dunder mifflin paper, dunder-mifflin paper, ryan howard, scranton office supplies, the office tv show, the office tv, the office tv series, NBC, NBC.com

  8. I found this in the source code of the page

“dunder mifflin infinity, office 360, the office 360, online paper sales, dunder mifflin, dunder-mifflin, dundermifflin, dunder mifflin paper, dunder-mifflin paper, ryan howard, scranton office supplies, the office tv show, the office tv, the office tv series, NBC, NBC.com”

Isn’t Office 360 the website where we can control our own branch?

Could this be the eventual log in page for Office 360?

Is Dunder Mifflin Infinity the name of Office 360 in the show?

  9. It’s definitely something being done by NBC.
A WHOIS of the site’s IP (64.210.192.91) brings up.

    OrgName: NBC UNIVERSAL
    OrgID: NBCUN-3
    Address: 30 Rockefeller Plaza
    City: NEW YORK
    StateProv: NY
    PostalCode: 10112
    Country: US

    NetRange: 64.210.192.0 – 64.210.193.255

Can’t wait to see what it is.

  10. I think it’s a Ryan Howard creation – or, at least, an idea that Ryan Howard has to implement. Ryan will have to pull the Scranton branch into it kicking and screaming, I’m sure, with some hilarious Michael antics. I think this will be Ryan’s first real test in Jan’s old position. The real question is whether he’ll succeed or fail.

  11. This looks interesting, but I’m getting a little tired of being teased by NBC with this stuff. I’d rather they get this site completed before letting only the first page go live. I can’t wait for the show to start again, but no more tease, please NBC people.

  12. Ah haaa! Could it be that DunderMifflinInfinity.com is the “intRAnet” that is on the official Dunder Mifflin website? When you click on Intranet on the Dunder Mifflin website, it states that it is coming September of 2007!!!

    Just a thought.

  13. This is just something a fan put together. By looking up the Whois, its more than clear that NBC does not own the site.

  14. That’s hilarious — exactly the sort of lame “coming soon” teaser that would come out of DM. Brilliant attention to detail, Office creators!

  15. A few months ago, Conan O’Brien said “Horny Manatee.com” on his show, as a joke, then found out that whenever a URL is mentioned in a broadcast, the network has to buy the domain. (Funny site, BTW.)

I’m guessing that “Dunder Mifflin Infinity.com” is mentioned in episode 2, so NBC had to buy it. Knowing them, they’ll make something fun with it.

  16. In the latest Entertainment magazine Fall TV issue, Greg Daniels mentioned that Ryan will be shoving a website down his fellow co-workers throats. Perhaps this is that website?

  17. Obviously the great genius Ryan is behind all this. He must have learn in his business school that in this digital age a company can’t survive on selling real paper alone. What a smart guy. He’s really going places – what a mover & shaker, he is!

  18. That’s a great idea nomadshan. I saw that on Conan too, and I bet that is what happened here with dundermifflininfinity.com.

  19. I feel like this jump into the digital age will require the hiring of tech guys. It would be hard for any business that wants to seriously enter the “digital age” to do it without tech guys (or gals). I wonder if we will be seeing some new hires at some point. I can totally see Ryan trying to infiltrate Scranton with more of his own kind.

  20. I can see the situation with Dunder Mifflin Infinity being one of those that has been talked about as Ryan being as oblivious to his own ridiculousness as Michael. It will be something either too grandiose or not relevant to paper, which should be funny.

  21. Well looking at the page info the description is: Official Site of Dunder Mifflin Infinity, an online division of Dunder Mifflin, Inc. Paper Company.

So yea it looks like something nbc is launching. Guess we’ll have to wait until they finish it..

  22. that was hilarious! I agree with you Headphone. I think Ryan doesn’t have enough business experience to come up with reasonable ideas. My guess is he comes up with something grandiose and completely unrealistic for a failing paper supply company to implement.

  23. 37: I agree also. I bet Ryan “screws the pooch” and Jim has to fix a lot of the issues and pick up Ryans slack. That way Jim can get some important responsibilities and take a lead (like he did in Office Olympics) but not have the stress of actually being the boss. Hmm..

  24. I hope they don’t turn Ryan into a “villain” of the show. The show doesn’t need characters that you don’t root for.

An online branch doesn’t sound too bad of an idea. It would open up Dunder-Mifflin’s potential market to more than just where the Branch locations are. It would also make sense for someone who isn’t good at telemarketing or sales cold-calling to embrace e-commerce.

  25. NBC Release:

Beginning this fall, viewers will be invited to experience “The Office” in a whole new way. There will be a multitude of interactive features, one of which will encourage users to “work for” Dunder-Mifflin. Recruits will be asked to create their own branches and complete weekly corporate tasks. Local “branches” which successfully complete tasks may be integrated into an on air episode of the show. Additional content will be made available on many platforms, including interaction with unique mobile content, a WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) site and significantly increased original content on NBC.com.

That is referring to this site I think…

  26. related to what 41 posted: I think it would be so great to somehow get a mention in the show. :)

  27. This might be a very stupid question, but is it just the logo? Because it has the intro, but then it just sits at the logo…

    Hmmmm…

  28. At the page source, the meta keywords for the page (these help search engines), are:
dunder mifflin infinity, office 360, the office 360, online paper sales, dunder mifflin, dunder-mifflin, dundermifflin, dunder mifflin paper, dunder-mifflin paper, ryan howard, scranton office supplies, the office tv show, the office tv, the office tv series, NBC, NBC.com

So, this IS the office 360. Its official. And I don’t think NBC wanted us to find it.

    How’d you find it tanster?

  29. I’m sure they “wanted” us to find it but made it look like they didn’t want us to find it. Some sort of viral marketing thing going on here.

WHat is this office 360 I keep reading about in the comments here? Somehow I missed that one.

  30. Epinson, I don’t think they’ll make Ryan into a villain. They could have easily done that with Michael but the writers and Steve Carell have made him sympathetic. I think with Ryan it’ll be a case of him being to big for his britches. I think it might also be interesting to have Michael see him as ridiculous, maybe similar to the Andy situation in The Return.

  31. I just got an email telling me I can apply for an at-home job at the Dunder Mifflin Infinity site, but nothing new happens when I click the link :(

    Requirements
    1. Must enjoy fun.
    2. Must know how to use a computer.
    3. Creativity is a plus but not a requirement.
    4. Must be reliable.
    5. Must be able to work within the confines of a team environment.
    6. Leadership skills are helpful, but not vital.
    7. Must not be a quitter.

    Check! (times 7, of course!)

  32. I’m not sure if anyone noticed this yet, but now there’s a login/register section on the site. I registered and it looks like social networking for Office fans. Most of the features are disabled right now, so there’s not much to do.

  33. Looks like the site is up and running! I think this is the interactive “Office 360” they were talking about.

  34. So has anyone else been sent a request to apply for a job at dundermifflin Infinity? It launches on the 27th. Fill out the contact info at the dunder mifflin inc. website:
    http://www.dundermifflinpaper.biz/index.shtml
You’ll be sent an email to apply for a job with the company.

  35. Yes!!!

On post 18 I completely called it.
(that this would be the login page for the branch system)

Looks like a fun year is coming for Office fans

  36. I’ve applied for the Flint Branch, but I have a few questions about how this works. Does everyone who applies get accepted? Should we apply for multiple branches in case we don’t get into our first choice?

  37. thank god! i’ve been trying to find a job at DMI where people are actually serious! i’m enlisting right now

  38. I think it’s up to the location’s manager to hire you… I tried in Spokane & Erie and never heard anything, was hired quickly by Pompano Beach
