Ellie Kemper gets her own NBC pilot

May 9 update: NBC has passed on ‘Brenda Forever.’

From Entertainment Weekly:

Ellie Kemper has signed for the lead role in the NBC comedy pilot Brenda Forever. The flashback-filled pitch: “Stories from Brenda Miller’s past and present are interwoven to give a unique portrait of how a chubby, awkward, but incredibly confident 13-year-old grew up to be a 31-year-old woman who still marches to the beat of her own drum.”

Congratulations, Ellie!

  1. Congrats Ellie!

While I have been hard on her character, I think she is a talented actress and wish her the best.

  2. Congrats! I will look forward to watching that.

Erin is my all-time favorite. But I know I will like the Brenda character already. :-)

  3. Great News! She’s incredible, and Erin has been my favorite character these past couple of years.

  4. Well I don’t know what Brenda would have been like but I would love to see Ellie Kemper in something new. She’s been great in The Office and also in Bridesmaids which I caught recently (an OK movie, but I did really like Kristen and Ellie in it).
