IGN interviews Brian Baumgartner

SPOILER WARNING! Article and subsequent comments will contain spoilers.

IGN talks to Brian Baumgartner about JAM, Scrantonicity, and the famous directors that have worked on The Office this season:

IGN TV: You’ve had some pretty big directors come on the show to take over the reigns for an episode. JJ Abrams, Harold Ramis, and Joss Whedon have all come on to direct. Did you find things pretty much stayed the same or did they came in saying “I’m going to do this the Harold Ramis way …”

I think it’s a bit of both. We’re pretty wired now, but some of the directors like you mentioned bring their own unique vision to it and they help to make the show that much better. But our structure and how the show is written is all there and pretty much doesn’t change. Harold might have ideas or specific changes that would change a moment.

  1. Here’s hopin’ that Kevin really likes the idea of Jim and Pam together…

  2. It’s just as some prophecies have predicted: it all comes down to…Kevin.
We know he thinks Pam is “hot” and that he was going to have Jim’s back if Roy pounced, and he was surprised Jim and Karen were so serious.
Wow. Kevin has so much power now it’s not even funny. Haha

  3. p.s. I dont like that they’re basing the season 3 finale outcome on whether rashida gets another job or not. she’s not even a main character!! that makes me kinda mad…they should have their finale and not worry about what she’s doing!!

  4. Maybe he’s just referring to beach games, like pairs. It just doesn’t seem like he’d be able to say something like that given the secrecy behind these two episodes.

    p.s. I’m a tipster!

  5. Yea, it’s difficult to judge the tone of Brian’s voice since its a printed article, but my first impression was that he was only kidding about Kevin’s role in Jim/Pam.

  6. #5

Trust me he was not kidding, there has been some talk about him playing a serious role in that prior to this interview and I think he is telling the truth.

Unless hes just trying to throw us of…

  7. Kevin just posted in his myspace blog, and I think everything is going to be alright. Regarding tonight’s episode, he said, “Yes. I said it here first. Tonight is the night. When everything is gonna be alright. THE OFFICE is back. Penultimate episode of season 3. It should be a goody. A good one. (That’s what she said.)”
Then for the finale he writes, “Then next THURSDAY. 1 HOUR. OFFICE finale. Amazing. I think you will be surprised by the end of the season. I really do. But if you don’t want, you won’t know what all the fuss is about. (I should be writing ads.)”

  8. yeah i really hope that kevin pushes jim towards pam! I need some JAM action…plus i thought that i heard somewhere that rashida is coming back next year…here’s just hoping this is just a rumour.
