Introducing the official Dunder Mifflin website

The Office Dunder MifflinI just received this memo from Dunder Mifflin PR:

“Dunder Mifflin has many new and exciting ventures coming up, and this new website is just the beginning. What will the new year bring? What will Ryan Howard bring to Dunder Mifflin?”

OfficeTally readers get a first look …

(Be sure to read the press release on the site …)

  1. There are branches in New York and New Hampshire but no Massachusetts! How can I apply if I’m in no situation to move out of state?

  2. I tried to submit my info so I can be contacted with “further information regarding Dunder Mifflin and its products and services” and it is asking me for a login and password. Wierd.

  3. That is so cool, I wonder if thats where they are going to launch the Office 360.

  4. The picture sequence on the masthead is great. Now we know what Dwight’s next lecture would have been about and where he would have gotten his visual aids.

Notice the list of branch locations? Buffalo, Albany, Utica, Scranton, Akron, Camden, Nashua and Yonkers are all sort of third-tier industrial cities attempting to reinvent themselves in the 21st century, like Ryan’s plan for Dunder-Mifflin Infinity. Funny choices, and a little bittersweet.

  5. It doesn’t prompt me for a login. I got a “Thank-you for your interest in paper!” Try again maybe?

  6. Yea I tried to enter my information and it did the same thing about the authorization required. I wonder what they’re gonna do with that later on

  7. Aparently the ‘Goes green’ episode has to do with the ‘one coup of water’ idea, probably from Michael. We already know that Michael was proud of Ryan’s promotion, but now is official!

  8. If you go in thru careers & enter your info it lets you subscribe without any password!

  9. That’s awesome! I would have thought Michael would feel betrayed by Ryan, but it makes sense that he would feel entirely responsible for his success.

  10. ooo, i’ve been waiting for something like this since they announced that Ryan would be working on website stuff. i love how much online stuff this show does and all the extra stuff like this that they do for us.

  11. That is wicked awesome, Tanster! Thank you so much for sharing. It is nice to see that The Powers That Be love OfficeTally as much as we all do :D

  12. hows about that intranet feature that’s supposed to be launching in sept 2007?

do you think that’s part of ryan’s big plans?

  13. I can’t believe they have Camden NJ as one of the branches. It is rated one of America’s Most Dangerous cities to live in. I live in NJ so i know. But i’m happy to see Jersey is on the website

  14. This is great! My favorite part was definitely the Think Green bit: “Just because we’re a paper company, it doesn’t mean we’re not as green as everyone else. Join us as we try to make the world a better place while not simultaneously running us out of our own business. Dunder Mifflin: As Green As We Have to Be.” That is so funny! It sounds like something Michael would say. Although I doubt he could pronounce ‘simultaneously.’

  15. I tried it at home and it went through this time. Did you guys try clicking on the “intranet” tab? It says “Launches September 2007”. I wonder if that is for the branch competition thing that they are doing. Wasn’t that mentioned sometime ago?

  16. This is VERY cool! :) I know Rainn Wilson said in an interview like on Leno Or Conan or something that they were going to have a LOT more merchandise, so I’m wondering if it’s going to be on this website? Right now it’s all stuff we’ve already seen, but still.
Also, they have one in Ohio! One state away!! (If only it were real. lol)

  17. OMG! I LIVE in Akron, Ohio!!!!! I have to find The Dunder Mifflin Akron Branch now! :)

  18. The website is so realistic looking. If someone didn’t know better, they’d probably try to order paper from them! I loved the bit about Ryan’s rise to power.

  19. That is one of the most awesome things I’ve seen this summer. I love how Michael says he’s Ryan’s guardian. I wonder what happens when you fill out the “Apply now” form?

  20. I am at work and bored almost to tears. I have been thinking all evening, man, I really need an awesome Office something. Thanks for delivering, Tanster.

This Dunder Mifflin site is just fabulous.

  21. It would be really funny if various dunderheads pictures were shown as the employees that work in the other branches. Like there could be different contests to find the various branch “employees.”

  22. I got to law school in Camden! A few years back, it was ranked the most dangerous city in the U.S….. not the safest place to sell paper. I bet Prison Mike has experience at the Camden branch.

  23. I’m so excited that there’s a New Hampshire branch! Awesome site, I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

  24. Does anyone know where the “New York HQ” building pictured is actually located? Obviously Manhattan, but where?

  25. I love that they plant one tree for every metric ton of paper they make. Hilarious!!!

  26. I’m surprised to read Michael’s reaction to Ryan getting the job. I thought he’d be more bitter than that. . .

  27. Notice what job position is *not* listed on the Careers page? (Hint: It’s totally awesome. I mean awful. I mean, sometimes awesome.)

  28. “This company is stuck in the past and I’m making it my personal mission to take it into the 21st Century, even though we’re already seven years in.”

Hahahahaha. That was hilarious to me for some reason.

  29. Wow. That is hilarious. I love the picture at the top going from tree to paper…. and the comments about “thinking green”

  30. Aww, I was at the mall in Nashua this afternoon. If I’d known there was a DM branch, I would have searched it out. ;)

  31. #37- i didn’t notice that was missing! regional director in charge of sale is also gone — i guess Andy is just regular old #4 salesperson.

  32. Hey wlhung-
The building is on 7th Avenue, right next door to the midtown Hilton, where I usually stay when I’m in new york – I had a bit of a nerd moment when I realized I have walked down the steps Jim walks down at the end of the Job.

  33. I noticed some people mentioned when they put in their info it asked for user and pass. I just went to the site and put it all in and it said thank you for subscribing to the newsletter.

  34. wait, is it micro-cap or mid-cap? The page title says micro-cap but the press release says mid-cap. Seems to me like it would be small cap…

  35. I am so glad New Hampshire is feeling the Dunder Mifflin love! Hmm, I wonder if I got a job there if my parents would let me move back in…

  36. Good call, Beardy. Speaking of nerd moments, I’m living in New York this summer and made it my mission to get pictures of myself reenacting scenes from the Office that took place in Manhattan. I have all the major ones except for the subway scene (“there’s a guy pooping in a box”), since I can’t find that station.

  37. the intranet link is probably going to be the ‘regional branch’ link for “The Office 360”. Very cool.

  38. This is probably the greatest idea to tie in a show with the real world. I can’t wait to see what the newsletter is like. I wonder if they’ll send things through both regular and e-mail.

  39. Yay, the site is on the NBC page now!
Also, Tanster, has the Office page at NBC always had Pam’s “I feel God in this Chili’s” quote underneath the date for the season 4 premiere? Is that some kind of hint?

  40. This is AWESOME! I can’t wait to start The Office 360, Hello Arizona Branch!!! We are going to kick butt!

  41. does anyone know what happens if i give my info on the contact sheet? i don’t want any spam/junk mail.

  42. Did anyone else read the Media section? “I want to shake things up around here,” said Howard. “This company is stuck in the past and I’m making it my personal mission to take it into the 21st Century, even though we’re already seven years in.” Howard went on to add: “The whole concept of a paper company in today’s paperless world is fundamentally flawed. I plan to take bold steps and initiate enormous reforms to bring this company back to financial viability.” I thought that was interesting…

  43. WLHUNG (#48): I’m pretty confident that the scene was filmed at the 49th Street & Broadway station on the N/R/W line. If I remember the episode correctly, there was bright red glazed brick in the station, at the top of the stairway — that’s definitely the 49th Street station (pass through it on my way to work everyday). There are probably multiple entrances, so check them all out. I’m guessing it’s an entrance right on Broadway/closest to the center of Times Square (“the center of the universe!” where Steve Carell/Michael Scott pointed out all of the great restaurants — Red Lobster, etc. — in NYC). Good luck and have fun!

  44. How weird. I live in Washington state, but I am currently in New Hampshire for my sister’s wedding and I was just in Nashua the other day. I wish Dunder Mifflin would spread out to the west coast! =]

  45. The site is so fun. I can’t wait fo find out about the innovations Ryan has in mind. I don’t know if I’d be thrilled if I were a Nashuaite (lived there for 10 years) to be grouped with Utica,Yonkers, et al… I think they were going for off the beaten path places like Scranton.
