Jenna Fischer MySpace blog: The Answers Blog – Part Two

From Jenna Fischer’s MySpace blog, dated June 1, 2008:

PERSONAL

I see you come into the Starbucks in St. Louis all the time. I always wonder what you order? – Erock from Fenton, MO
Tall 2-pump vanilla latte with skim milk.

What was the first concert you ever attended? Shen from Los Angeles, CA
The New Kids on the Block in St. Louis, MO. I took my little sister Emily. We hope to see them on tour this fall!

My question is when are we going to get to see the Barbie Party Massacre…? – Kevin T. from Sellersburg, Indiana
For those of you who don’t know, Barbie Party Massacre was a stop motion film I made with my Barbies when I was in high school. I made it with my friend Stacy. The stop motion starts out really great because I was taking my time. But then I got bored and started pulling them with string. It’s pretty insane. My Dad is looking for the tape but can’t find it. We are bummed. He wants me to show it on Letterman.

Jenna, I know you and Angela are very close. How is she doing with the new baby? – Charles from NEWPORT, Pennsylvania
Angela is an amazing mother. I’m beyond impressed. She has the calm of someone who’s been through it before. The sleep deprivation makes her funny to talk to. I was visiting her one day and she fell asleep in the middle of a conversation. Then, she woke up and kept talking as if nothing had happened! It was hilarious.

I saw on Wikipedia that your given name is Regina. I was wondering, as one Regina to another, why you changed it? – Regina (although your profile said Reginka)
I was named after my mother’s Great Aunt Regina. However, my parents have called me Jenna since I was a baby. Regina is the name on all of my legal documents. But, I only get called Regina by substitute teachers, doctors and telemarketers. It’s actually good for screening my calls. If the person asks for Regina I know it is because they want to sell me something.

Who would you go gay for? :-) To help you, Janet Jackson recently gave Alicia Keys as her answer and Haden Panettiere recently said Angelina Jolie. – Daily Lesbian Moment
I would go gay for Kate Winselt. I saw her across the room at a party once. She is the sexiest woman on the planet. She holds herself with confidence, she’s smart and she’s incredibly talented. She’s also a Mom. I like her style.

I’m breeding fairly large bunnies to make tiny little bunnies!! Do you want one? If so you will have the first born? – ©mJeremym from Texas
Thank you for offering me your first born bunny. That is officially the strangest gift I’ve been offered. But, I’m pretty sure my cat Andy would eat a tiny bunny. I better pass. Good luck with the breeding.

Do you think that you would ever do work in live theater, like have there ever been any dream roles that you wanted to do? – Veronica from San Marcos, CA
I would love to do live theater again. It is a dream of mine to play Hedda Gabler. And, when I’m older, even though I can sing, I would like to play Mama Rose in Gypsy.

My question… I read an interview where you said something to the effect that you didn’t feel like you needed a huge movie career, but would be happy to be on a long running TV show. Is that still the case? – Jenna from Fuquay Varina, North Carolina
Yes, this is still true. I like the routine of working with the same people at the same location every day. I like how our cast and crew feel like family. On a movie, you only work with people for a few months and then you rarely see them again. I also love the challenge of playing the same character for a long period of time.

How you doin’? – Eison from South Carolina
I’m doing really great. I had a tough year last year. But I’m stronger because of it. I worked hard to fight my way back to physical health. I found a great balance in my personal life. I’m happier than I think I’ve ever been. All due in no small part to these 88 Calorie Brownies:

Ingredients
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup unbleached, all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon instant espresso powder (note: I couldn’t find this and my brownies came out fine without it)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
Butter-flavored cooking spray

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8×8 inch non-stick cake pan with spray.

In a medium mixing bowl, using a sturdy whisk or spatula, mix the applesauce, vanilla, egg whites and sugar until they are well combined.

Add the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir the mixture until it is just combined and no lumps remain. Pour it into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the chips evenly over the top. Bake the brownies for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry (a few crumbs are okay).

Transfer the pan to a cooling rack and allow them to cool 5 minutes. Cut into 12 equal brownies. Makes 12 (1 brownie) servings.

Each brownie has: 88 calories, 2 g protein, 19 g carbohydrates, 1 g fat, less than 1 g saturated fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 133 mg sodium

Traditional Double Chocolate Brownies have: 260 calories, 3 g protein, 37 g carbohydrates, 12 g fat, 3 g saturated fat, 15 mg cholesterol, 1 g fiber, 165 mg sodium

Devin Says:
The addition of the espresso powder makes these brownies richer and more chocolaty tasting without adding calories. Just be sure you buy instant espresso powder.
