  1. That was hysterical–snort laughing hysterical! Poor Jim, “You gotta help, you gotta help me out…” Steve Carell rules!

  2. Haha those last 5 seconds when Jim literally has to drag Michael out is hilarious! I bet John and Steve had fun with that.

  3. Honestly, I can see how even an un-clumsy person could fall into that thing! The uneven walkway, no rails… yikes. I wonder if this was a real place (or based on a real place).

  4. “What amazed me more was how long it took him to get out.” HAHAHA this is great

  5. #5, yeah it looked like Steve was totally sandbagging, giving no help at all, as John trying to pull him out.
I wonder if that was improv?

I feel sort of like of hypocrite, as I really hated when Michael drove into the lake, but I loved this.

  6. i wish they had kept the part with jim helping out. because i totally would have jumped away too. it’s a human reflex to pull yourself away from danger. at least he didn’t stand there and laugh. he DID help him out.

and i mean seriously……. who the eff puts a koi pond in a lobby?! it’s dangerous… total lawsuit material. child drowning danger, etc.

kind of reminds me of my next-door neighbors. their septic tank is in the backyard, so they have a pool in their FRONT yard. with a walkway over it. without railings. wtf? they even have kids. total drowning danger.

  7. Loved it! Kinda wish they could have kept this in the episode last night, but I understand there wouldn’t have been enough time. Too many darn commercials!

  8. I can see that they didn’t put this in the episode because of time, although it would’ve made a great tag for the end of the show, BUT I like this one because it shows WHY Jim leaned that way. He didn’t do it not to help Michael, but he was right there and almost fell in himself, and at least he DID try to help him(and would’ve got pulled in himself if he went to pull him out or went to bring him back)

  9. I feel guilty for watching this…

I don’t know why. Sometimes I forget that Michael isn’t a real person, and I don’t need to protect him.

  10. Haha I love it! I like how you get to see that Jim did try to help Michael, since Michael obviously thought he was drowning. I do kinda wish Dwight was there, he probably would’ve dove in after Michael!

About the whole Jim leaning away thing… I can’t believe the office was upset with him over that. Would any of them tried to save Michael? Obviously not, they would’ve fallen in too. It was a perfectly normal reaction to lean away. I live in an area that gets a lot of ice during the winter, if you slip, no one’s going to try to save you, cause they’ll go down too.

  11. I hope the fish wasn’t really hurt. It looked like it was swimming right under his foot and got hit in the fall. D:

  12. John was totally going to break in that scene! So funny! Thanks for posting, Tanster!

  13. yep, tanster…. he totally breaks when there are about 12 seconds left. HEEEEEEE!!!!

  14. Hahaha…he was totally breaking character until the “fake sniff” save. That was great.

  15. LOL! He totally almost broke! If there wasn’t an ad shown every time I hit play, I’d watch it a dozen times!

  16. I completely missed the ‘breakage’ on the first view. After reading your comments I re-watched it multiple times. Love it!

  17. Oh jeez, watching them break makes me so happy. John was so twitchy that entire scene- definitely a no-break defense mechanism!

And that koi pond footage was absolutely incredible. However, it was nice NOT to see a major occurrence like that for once- it really adds to the documentary feel!

  18. Haha I love John half-breaking in the tie scene. He stops himself right away with the nose twitch, great defense against breaking. And I definitely see why that was cut, but it was pretty funny.

  19. Ah, I love this. Frankly, I’m surprised John ever did that well at not breaking. I don’t know how they ever got it at all!

  20. I didn’t notice John breaking the first time, but I saw it the second time! He actually did a good job of covering it up. I probably would’ve burst out laughing… Thanks for pointing that out Tallyheads!

  21. Oh he totally almost breaks! Haha his suppressed smile for a second there is really adorable

  22. this should’ve stayed in! so much awesomeness!

“can you just kick me out of the meeting now?”

    “just put ‘kelly'” “AWWW!!”

“I will claw your tiny nose off.”

“just do it, or I’ll punt you like a football.”

and dwight sniffing the air is just GOLD!

  23. Oh no, what happened to Dwight’s superior sense of smell? In Office Olympics, he smelled beets and olives in a condo two doors down!

  24. Wish they would have kept Michael kicking out Toby, that could have become a running gag since they did it in an earlier episode.

  25. Good spot What’s second base! I loved this scene, not too keen on the episode, but this should have stayed in along with the Toby scene.
