  1. “it’s called being a man”
“how long have you been a man?”
    “I was BORN a man”

Oh. My. GOD!!! these deleted scenes (last week’s “cars are like penguins” and this week’s) are FANTASTIC! They totally could have cut out a little of the kidnapping thing for this….come on writers! maybe you should poll the tallyheads on what should be cut and what should be left in. Or at least let us vote on one deleted scene a week that could be kept in, yeah? but thank you so much NBC for letting us see these right after the ep airs!!! i love it.

“and i SAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG them all the reasons they should admit me to the schoooooooool…”
    hahahaha! i love you andy.

  2. I am glad for the Dwight’s deleted scene because, not only was it funny, but I thought he was growing the beard to channel Ryan.

  3. Nope, Angelica…you aren’t the only one. Normally I wouldn’t touch Dwight with a 10-foot pole but, given the aptly-titled “Mercy Killing” of Sprinkles by Pam, I totally want to, at least, pat his shoulder in comfort.

Andy is totally obnoxious…and completely hysterical. Love these deleted scenes…though I thought the pizza delivery boy-kidnapping was hysterical as well. I was just impressed with the episode as a whole.

  4. Great deleted scene, made even better because it had more of Andy! Even with hourlong episodes there are still some really great scenes that have to get cut. Goes to show what a great job the writers and actors do every week!

  5. What’s wrong with Cornell’s admissions board? Some of my high school classmates attended Cornell. Let’s just say that they were… odd people, which only serves to bring this deleted scene full circle for me.

  6. Great deleted scene. This explained the beard for me. The writers should have kept this scene for that reason alone. Also loved Andy’s clubs: Drama, Barbershop Club! Classic.

  7. AHHH! Andy sung his way into Cornell. They probably only let him in so that he would stop. Great reveal.

  8. That was one of the best deleted scenes I’ve seen! Andy is getting better and better! Dwight for an Emmy for sure!

  9. I think everyone knew exactly why Dwight had the beard. I’m glad the scene was cut, because it was trying way too hard to explain things. I did like the ‘I was born a man, Halpert’ line :-)

  10. that was an awesome deleted scene. The kidnapping was funny too, but I agree they could have cut some of that and put in the deleted scene.

  11. I had kind of guessed about the beard as well (and I feel SO bad for Dwight!), but Andy’s “admission” story was hilarious. I can totally see it.

  12. Loved this deleted scene! I knew right away why Dwight had the scruff…primarily because I too have grown a breakup beard…and I thought it was a great touch.

  13. Some viewers might be interested to know that Andy bragging about Cornell is likely an inside joke by the writers, several of whom attended Harvard.

Cornell is thought of as one of the lesser Ivys by those at Harvard and Yale. So Andy’s singing admission to Cornell is just another jab at this university by the Boston-based writers.

  14. The second deleted scene is up!! I love Michael/Pam interactions!
“The ones for drivers to check their blindspots?”

  15. The second deleted scene’s got my favorite Creed line yet, though, really, the fact that he spent the last episode just nodding at everything was pretty amazing, too. I don’t mind the scene being cut, but it was very happy to see it here!

  16. I love how Michael ignores everything Pam blurts out. Also? Go Fancy New Beesly!

  17. How does Steve Carell not crack up? I laughed so hard at that site of him sitting there with teabags over his eyes. I would have never been able to pull that off. Which probably explains why I am not a famous comedian on TV and in movies. :)

  18. So the first deleted scene touched me so deeply because i attend Cornell. I have to say admissions is a bit unpredictable, I think, but it is so funny that they poke fun at my school. I know that there are Harvard alum on the writing team at this show. I wonder if this is just old rivalry.

i’m loving Andy more and more.

  19. Haha Teabaggin’ it! I needed a new keyboard because I spit water all over my old one when Michael had the tea bags on his eyes.

  20. I had been mildly unhappy at the lack of a Creed scene in “Launch Party”, so I was delighted at his TH in the second deleted scene. Mole people??? So completely in character for Creed. I love this guy. I want Creed to get his own show!

  21. #32

Nah, I think Creed probably informed them. ;-)

At first I was a little disappointed in the lack of Creed last week, but at the same time just him sitting there nodding throughout most of the episode was pretty spot-on too.

  22. I love Angela more and more all the time! She has always been great, but she is gold this season.

  23. Oh my God! That last line of the 3rd deleted scene was great. My name is of course Denise and I perm my hair!! Although I do tell people that it isn’t naturally curly and it is a perm. I really felt like she was actually talking to me so it was kinda weird to watch.

  24. Now, I’m not bashing NBC, I have a serious question about the region issues regarding these deleted scenes. Are there legal reasons why they are blocked from being viewed outside the United States? Its a little confusing because while we can watch ads, the clips themselves are not shown.

Is this a piracy issue or what? Im just curious that’s all, if anybody wishes to share their knowledge on the matter.

  25. Is anybody else surprised that Michael knew that teabagging could have another meaning? He always seems so out of it.

Sorry, I have to go to work. I’ll check my hairdo on the city mirror across the street ;)

  26. do any other hostage movies besides Inside Man (thats what she said) have a scene where the cops order pizza…or is kevin just making a broad assumption

  27. 39 Big Tuna: Universal probably sold exclusive rights in each country. If NBC made the videos available to that country, it could be construed as a violation of the exclusivity agreement.

  28. 47 What’s Second Base: Yes, that’s very likely true, but that shouldn’t disqualify folks (like me) who may be trying to watch as govt employees abroad: state dept, military, etc….NBC should have a different policy for embassies, consulates, bases, etc. Technically, I’m *on* U.S. soil, for all NBC cares.

  29. Aw, poor Toby. Since when does Kelly give the HR guy a lesson on what’s appropriate at work? Weird.

  30. Oh, Toby. This guy cannot catch a break (having a hot date at Phyllis’ wedding doesn’t count, does it?).

  31. Aww, Toby. I just want to give him a big ‘ol hug. But I also wouldn’t want to be walking at a crosswalk with a stop sign with him driving by. Yikes!

  32. I love Toby. He makes me laugh everytime.
The smile and the stop sign that was great.

  33. The writers should have kept that last one and put it in a different episode! That’s hilarious!

  34. I really do want to feel sorry for Toby but after he outed Jim and Pam, then refused to let them sign papers, I’m not so sure he doesn’t have a mean streak.

Oh, and if I ever see Toby on the road (kinda doubtful, huh? :)) I will know to steer clear from him.

  35. That Toby deleted scene was excellent! Now we know where Toby was the whole episode. Kelly and Oscar – hilarious! They should have kept that in.

  36. There’s Toby! I knew he’d end up in a deleted scene after being MIA during the episode (except for walking by in the background). That was just a short clip but so funny…especially Oscar asking if he could see shapes!

  37. Hi Big Tuna – my understanding is that it is a legal issue, but I don’t see how it could be piracy, given that this is strictly online material (i.e. even if someone did burn it to a CD, what would it matter if it’s free to everyone anyway?) Plus, there is some content we can download (e.g. the summer vacation videos). It’s very frustrating though – I think The Office does well here in Canada (it’s shown on a lot of stations and at different nights of the week), so hopefully NBC will reconsider.

  38. Toby might just be my favorite character. I can see why this didn’t make the cut for the show, but it is HILARIOUS! It’s never just what lines they give him, Paul has some of the best delivery on this show. (ok, they are all good, but I just love Toby especially).
“It’s….out of context. It’s different when you’re driving.”
    HAHAHA!!! love ya toby!

  39. 48 Blako: I don’t think it’s NBC’s decision to block outside the U.S. They’re probably forced to do it by Universal.

57 Cher is Bonto: I would not be surprised if Toby just lied in order to provide an excuse for why he can’t see shapes.
