Limited access to OT today

Okay, we’re up and running, but I don’t want a big flood of people here … yet.

Remember to always check OT’s MySpace page for updates — that is command center central whenever there are problems with the site.

And don’t panic if you aren’t able to access OT later today; it just means I needed to disable it while I work on the next step.

   THERE you are! Also going through withdrawal. I haven’t read all the comments, but please make your myspace page public for those of us who don’t have an account there, and dedicate a post to it here so we’ll know we can get in. So glad you set up the temp tally! How awful that this would happen just as the season closes and the blog voting is underway. Thanks for all you do. I’m addicted to OfficeTally as well!

   Jennie, thank you so much for all of the hard work you put into this website. I’m relatively new to The Office and OT. I didn’t start watching The Office until “The Convention”, but I’ve been addicted ever since. I started checking out OT after hearing Jenna mention it during the Season 2 commentaries and on her myspace page, and just like with The Office, I’ve become addicted to OT. I only started posting a couple of weeks ago, and I had just finished a post in relation to “Beach Games” on Saturday, but when I tried to send it, I got the message that OT was down. I was afraid that I had caused the entire site to crash. I certainly hope that wasn’t so.

   Again, thank you so much for everything that you do here. I cannot wait to see what happens tonight.

   What’s with the password thing?

   I had to find out what was going on at the forum on tv.com because I’m not a member of My Space. I was going into serious withdrawal!

   Personally I preferred the look and layout of the temporary site, I found it easier to read, easier on my eyes in general. It’s not a huge deal, but just sayin’.

   I visit this site multiple times every day, and was going crazy not being to view your MySpace to find out what was going on the last few days! You do an amazing job, Tanster — we really appreciate all the time and effort you put into this site!

   YES!!! I can’t believe how many times I’ve check this site these past couple of days.

   For future reference Tanster, when the sight goes down, try to make your myspace public so everyone can see it.

   Not everyone has a myspace :)

    Oh my god, I have been HOMELESS online (and less than 24 hrs to go until the finale) until yet another google search turned up the way in.

    Thank you Tanster for this site, for hanging in, for all the hard work. I have no technical advice for you, but I am a writer and you need to get your story out to the media so someone can step in with some technical support/backing/whatever it is you need. Someone needs to sponsor you

    This is criminal for you not to be fully zoppity for the finale. you should be able to enjoy all the efforts of your work amid all the posts and excitement.

    Thanks so much Tanster! I honestly know that I spend way to much time on this site and so the past few days have been really hard (TWSS)! Thanks for all your work for us obsessive dunderheads!

    32: I read your comment and thought my head was going to explode. I took my AP Psychology test yesterday and so now I’m trying to avoid anything that has to do with psych for as long as I possibly can =D

    Tanster how much bandwidth and hits are you pulling? I would suggest dreamhost as I use them and handle my site well. If you are getting an insane amount of traffic you might want to consider using Media Temple’s Grid Sevice. I heard it handles massive bandwidth pretty well (like the digg effect, digg.com stories) Check it out http://www.mediatemple.net/webhosting/gs/

    I agree with #52. I don’t have a MySpace account and I was left for days wondering what had happened to my beloved OfficeTally so soon before the season finale. I don’t want to have to suffer that kind of heartache again.

    Great job, Tanster! And just in time for the finale. It seems to be a pretty smooth transition – so far so good. So I know dedicated servers are expensive, and for all the work you do I am happy to throw some donations in a tip jar somewhere. So just tell me where to route the funds.
