In The Office Season 3 episode Gay Witch Hunt, Meredith licks some hand sanitizer in hopes of getting a little alcohol buzz.
Sound unrealistic? From the ‘life imitating art’ files:
Doctors said in a letter published Sunday in the Medical Journal of Australia that they were stunned to discover the man had downed six 375-milliliter (12.7-ounce) bottles of hand sanitizer, giving him a blood-alcohol concentration more than five times higher than the legal limit for driving in Australia.
Now I think people are doing this stuff (the car, the H.S.) just to see if what they did in the Office was legit. Still funny though!
This “copycat” stuff is getting out of hand; Now I hope nobody tears their scrotum, just because Andy did in the “Niagara” episode!
There have been reported cases of children accidentally getting drunk from hand sanitizer – the kids got sick and they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them till they did a blood alcohol level – and then they traced it back to the sanitizer – and it would take a lot less for a child!
I wonder if next we’re going to see “Man burns foot on George Foreman grill.”
I thought she licked the hand sanitizer in order to clean her tongue after finding out Oscar was gay, suggesting that at one point she hooked up with him. Nevertheless, quite the story! Nice find.
