The Daily Show with Jon Stewart recently likened an old photo of Newt Gingrich with one of The Office’s Dwight Schrute:

Newt vs. Schrute

“Why would you choose me? Because I’m mighty? Cause I’m the manliest man in the office?”

What do you think?

I’m sure it’s meant to insult Newt, but it’s a bigger insult to Dwight/ Rainn, just as Newt’s name is an insult to some very cool amphibians.

Creeeeepyyyy! Do you think if he became president, he’d paint the entire oval office black?

    LOL.

Now I understand Newt’s goals. He just wants Megadesk.

It’s impossible to be sure, but my money is on Newt’s shirt having short sleeves.

Even if you approach it from an apolitical perspective (YMMV on that), this is HILARIOUS, and another reason the Daily Show remains fantastic for unearthing it.

Rainn came to terms with the likeness, because he changed his Twitter avatar to reflect it.

I never thought I’d say this, but I think Dwight actually has the better hairdo.

Rainn changed his twitter picture to that picture of Newt hahaha glad he has a sense of humor about it!

This is a compliment to Newt, also a slight to Dwight.

#5 – In fact, Newt is wearing short sleeves. Go to Rainn’s Twitter and click on the picture to see an un-cropped version.

Newt is more like Rainn’s character on Six Feet Under
