Office wins Writers Guild awards

The Office writing staff has won TWO 2007 Writers Guild awards!

Steve Carell won a second trophy for “The Office” in top comedy episode for writing the “Casino Night” segment … Upon accepting his award, Carell evoked a big laugh by saying tongue-in-cheek, “The other writers did not help me, so I celebrate me.”

   Congrats to both the writing staff on their collective win as well as for Steve for “Casino Night”, which’ll probably go down in OFFICE history as one of the best episodes of the series.

   I wonder if it’ll be a one time thing or if Steve or any of the non-writer cast members will take a turn at writing. Wouldn’t mind seeing Rainn write an ep, or John or Jenna.

    Congrats to the amazing writers!

    They deserve this so much. The Office writers are so unbelievably awesome–I have so much trust in them. I can’t say that for any of my shows (past or present).

    I think I squealed about this as much, if not more, than the SAG win for the cast. The Office writing staff is made of awesome in my estimation and are totally deserving of these accolades!

    I was thinking the same thing Reginaroadie, especially about John, he was an honors playwright in college and has written a screenplay for Brief Interviews with Hideous Men. I’m surprised he hasn’t written an Office episode yet.

    this is so great. I’m so glad they won awards this year recognizing ensemble acting and all the writers too. It is such a collaborative show.

    congrats to the writers! this is really the best writing on tv these days and they totally deserve it! also congrats to steve, casino night was probably one of my favorite episodes of the office.
