Paul Feig went to my high school! That’s right, I went to the high school that Freak and Geeks is based on!!! Haha! I think it’s so cool that he has made it in Hollywood. He’s really an inspiration to all the kids at that school. I’m still trying to figure out how I can use that connection to score a visit to “The Office” set!

For more insight from Paul Feig about how he approaches his work, (including F&G’s), I’m reading this really cool book about comedy writing called “And Here’s the Kicker” by Mike Sacks. It’s filled with interesting interviews. I just finished reading Paul’s chapter, and he’s remarkable. I so want to meet him one day. (The whole book is fun too!)

Thanks so much for posting this, Tanster! Paul Feig is kind of my hero, as he has touched almost everything that I love, and he is from Michigan like me! Freaks and Geeks will always be my #1 all time favorite show. It never fails to amaze me how every time I watch F & G I’m enthralled, even though only 18 episodes were made and I’ve seen every one a million times. And I love that he spent so much time talking about Lindsay Weir in this interview– she and Pam are definitely my favorite female television characters of all time. Ahh! Too many good things to say. Yay Paul!

What a great interview! Paul is such a talented guy, and seems so classy. Plus he’s quite an entertaining “tweeter” (is that a word?). And I’m loving ‘Bored to Death’ – I got so excited when I saw his name in the credits the other night!
