  1. I loved it. I am really excited about being a DM employee…another outlet for my office obsession!

  2. I got mine! I thought it was spam at first and then I took a look at the name…I’m totally stoked for DMI.

  3. This is what it says under the Whats New section on your DMI page:

“Big things are happening on September 21! Make sure to take a look!”

    Thats tomorrow. Cant wait

  4. Ditto. I want to know if I am a manager or not. If not, make me a sales rep so I can start shipping that wonderful Dunder-Mifflin Paper already.

    P.S. Go Schaumburg.

  5. I didn’t get the email, but I’ve signed up for DMI and can log in to the site with no problems….should I contact someone?….Ryan, maybe…gah…help!!

  6. Also my what’s new section on my Dunder-Mifflin page says:

“Big things are happening on September 21! Make sure to take a look!”

    I wonder what’ll happen tomorrow!

  7. I’m almost more excited for the DMI episode than the premiere…Somebody over there at NBC got smart: If you build it they will come.

  8. Oops. I deleted it thinking it was junk mail.
I thought the name sounded familiar, but the subject seemed like a typical bit of junk.
Maybe the savvy new guy from corporate should’ve thought about that.

Anyway, what did I trash? A branch assignment?

  9. Woopee! I can’t wait to move into the paperless age and have profit margins bigger than Exxon!

  10. Phew, I was wondering if I was accepted as an employee or not.

…Does this mean I’m accepted as an employee? :-\

  11. After I received the email I checked my DM account & there was a new box that said “Big things are happening on 9/21 Make sure to take a look”.

I stayed up to 12am to see if anything would be different, & now that box is gone.

Tomorrow’s work day is going to be looooooong!

  12. I’m going to have to say that this can not be healthy for me, but I’m so totally more than excited to be a part of the DM Family lol

  13. I’m excited, too. Sometimes I have dreams that I’m working at Dunder-Mifflin, so when I saw the email fromm Ryan Howard it took me a second to realize I was actually awake. Wow. That was a “TMI” moment. Sorry.

  14. Reading this moving letter now confirms what the summer vacation videos led me to suspect. Ryan Howard has begun his slow decent into disconnect of Michael Scott proportions.

Season 4 is going to be a-may-zing :)

On a side note, I wonder if he’ll hate Kendal as much as Michael hates Toby…

  15. Hmmmm…no email for me. But I did notice that they added several new branches. There are now 3 branches in CA, FL, IL, MI, OH, NY, TX and 2 in MO. SO it looks like there will be lots of Management jobs available.

  16. do you know how and when we’re supposed to find out if we’ve been hired as a regional manager?

  17. I don’t know if anyone else got this email but apparently they noticed the errors people were having and sent out an email to people that applied for regional manager and let them know they are adding branches.. I’ll forward the email to tanster so she can post important details.

  18. Did anyone else who applied for regional manager get a Dunder Mifflin Infinity e-mail titled “Error detected”? . . . it’s very intriguing.

  19. I’m a Phillies fan, so I thought it was a Phillies fan club e-mail instead. No, it was not Ryan’s first baseman namesake, but rather Dunder Mifflin’s Ryan Howard himself.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised.

  20. muppet babies tatoo I agree with you, it does sound like he’s developed a Michael like disconnect with reality. The difference between them is that Michael for all of his faults cares about his employees and Ryan does not. The e mail reads like he’s using his position to get back at things he didn’t like in Scranton.

  21. “…you too will be a reflection of the Dunder Mifflin name. Treasure this. Live by this. You are an extension of the company. Do not let us down.”

    I just got goosebumps…

  22. I got an email saying there was an error in my manager application, but that I have priority if I want to apply for a regional manager position at 15 new locations that they’re opening. I get a 24 hour head start before they make these 15 locations available to everyone else.
So, if you missed your chance at being a regional manager, try back tomorrow.

  23. What time did the email get sent out? I checked my email last night around 10:30pm Central time and didn’t see it. Hmmmm. Maybe it got sent to my bulk mail? Now I can’t wait to get home to see it (they block my email carrier here at work. Booooooo). Hehe.

  24. There are so many branches now. Is there no maximum a branch can have? There are going to be so many people playing, I think it’s going to get very competitive around here! Of course, we don’t really have any details on what people are going to have to do, but I’m sure it will be fun anyway.

  25. Tanster! Have you heard anything about those of us who applied and did not get Ryan’s email? Is it another tech. glitch or was it just sent to people who got their 15 employees first and got made managers? I applied as a manager and got many people to apply but not enough evidently. I still want to try again but I haven’t gotten either of the emails that have been sent in the last 24 hours. Heather from SD

  26. “Stay with us long enough and you’ll want to be committed, too.”

I love that! Knowing Ryan he meant that very literally. LOL!

  27. LOVE DMI! And not to be a dork, but Ryan lists eight branches (Akron, Albany, Buffalo, Camden, Nashua, Scranton, Utica, and Yonkers) in his letter. But I distinctly remember Jan telling Michael in a season two episode that Scranton was ranked fourth out of five branches (“Top 80 percent!” Michael retorted), and that was when Stamford was still open. What’s the deal???

  28. I received this e-mail… thought it was great!

I didn’t have a branch manager code to put in when I signed up, so I’m listed as a temp. I hope I make the final cut!

  29. I just replied to Ryan’s email to let him know my true feelings of excitement to work for him at Dunder Mifflin. Woohoo! I was excited to see we could reply. Anyone else reply?

  30. I am very concerned, I didn’t get an email from Ryan. I signed up as a RM and have had a bunch of people sign up and have received nothing!

  31. I replied to the email as well. It would totally awesome if we got email addresses as well. I would just love to send out that email address to people, like on job applications!!

  32. Thanks Phyllis*Farm!

I can’t wait for Thursday!!! Is it sad that I am more excited about Fun Run than my birthday (which is on Wednesday)? :)

  33. “Although you will not be dealing with customers directly…” What does this mean? No more sales calls?

  34. Anyone else notice that when you login to the DMI site, there is a “What’s New” box that says “Big things are happening on September 21! Make sure to take a look!” Well, it’s now Sep. 21 and I don’t notice any new or big things. I realize the day is not yet completely over in the western hemisphere, but am I missing something?

  35. 57, Meghan-

We, as DMI employees, won’t be dealing with customers directly because, well, there are no real customers. :D
