I got the box too. I love my dundie award. I just wish it had a one of the categories inscribed on it. Like Phylis’ “Bushiest Beaver” or Pam’s “Longest Engagement”.
A different Dundie in every box.

I snuck out of work on my break to go to Best Buy and get the gift set. It is AWESOME!! I LOVE IT! The bobble head is pretty small, but it’s nice, not like a plastic little toy.

The Target Special Edition with the Dunder Mifflin brown cover and the Paley Q&A sounds great. I bought Season 2 last year @ Target for the booze cruise blog (which I still rewatch over and over) so buying S3 there is worth it. I just can’t justify buying that set @ Best Buy when I know it will just collect dust, sounds cool but not worth another $10-15.

At the best buy I work at, we accidently put out the new season of Samurai Jack early because the box was not marked with a street date.. we sold one copy and were threatened with a lawsuit, serious stuff.

And, having worked in a bookstore, I can attest that this can be very serious. It can even result in publishers no longer shipping to a particular place.

Last year I couldn’t decide which special edition set to buy (Target or Best Buy) so I bought both! Don’t regret it…I took the day off work and was parked outside the store a few minutes before they opened, assuming that everyone else that was there wanted The Office too, but they didn’t.

Sometimes stores release things on accident before their release date. Just like when Harry Potter 6 came out and a few drugstores in Canada accidentally released them a week early. Stores usually get shipments of DVD’s and so on early and some employees make the mistake of stocking them before the release date. Simple as that.

yea the same thing happened to me at Wal-Mart with a new album. There were a couple copies on the shelf so my buddy called me and we both bought one. No one else had it for another week. But I would much rather have gotten The Office Season 3.
