Song mystery solved

Remember that sadly beautiful song that played during the JAM scene last week in Phyllis’ Wedding?

You know, the song that played in the preview (toward the end, when Jim and Karen are dancing), but was replaced by Sting’s Fields of Gold in the actual aired episode?

Well thanks to some good detective work, we now know the singer and title of the mystery song, listed on the NBC Featured Music page:

Penny Framstad The Office

The Heart Has a Mind of Its Own by Penny Framstad

Tipster: Natalie

you know that song that they played in the world famous long promo about Jim and Pam that aired this summer…the one after Stars?? It has no lyrics or anything but I die everytime I watch that promo and its in the backround when Jim goes in for the kiss..

  7. Awesome! The first stanza of this song describes JAM perfectly. I’m just waiting for somebody to make a JAM fan vid with this song. *hint hint* Anybody?

  8. Wow! You mean NOBODY knew that was Field’s of Gold??

That was Sting’s biggest hit as a solo artist!!

I’m ashamed at you guys :(

  9. Are you serious? It was REPLACED by Sting’s “Fields of Gold” in the aired episode. We were all trying to find the song in the dotcomedy.com preview…and I am so happy I finally found it to share with everyone! Seriously, such a relief!! :)

I immediately posted my findings under the ‘Phyllis’ Wedding previews’ post:

    HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, EVERYONE!!!

  10. I think they didn’t put Fields of Gold in the preview because they wanted to keep Scrantonicity under wraps. :]

but yes, Fields of Gold is amazing. I didn’t really care for the song in the preview. :/

  11. lol KriZit. The latter. I guess that’s what happens when you skim through a paragraph. My apologies : )

  12. Nice find on Myspace!
    Thanks Natalie #16

I loved you once, I can love you twice
My heart keeps telling me this is good advice
We had it all then started to stall
But we can fall in love again
Love is a feeling that you can’t explain
The heart has a mind of its own
You can tell yourself you know it’s wrong
Tell yourself this can’t go on
But the heart has a mind of its own
The heart has a mind of its own

But true believers didn’t care about danger
There own faith to the wind, two hopeful strangers
When the glitter faded, the dream got traded
To the parade that’s passing us by
Love is a feeling that you can’t explain
The heart has a mind of its own
You can tell yourself you know it’s wrong
Tell yourself this can’t go on
But the heart has a mind of its own

The heart has a mind of its own
You can give yourself a million excuses
    Why love is useless
    But you know
The heart has a mind of its own
You can tell yourself you know it’s wrong
Tell yourself this can’t go on
But the heart has a mind of its own
The heart has a mind of its own

The heart has a mind of its own
You can tell yourself that you won’t crawl
Swear that you’re above it all
But the heart has a mind of its own
    The heart has a mind
    The heart has a mind
The heart has a mind of its own
