‘Super’ with Rainn Wilson

‘Super’ is a film starring and produced by The Office’s Rainn Wilson and written/directed by James Gunn.

Summary: After his wife (Liv Tyler) leaves him for a drug dealer (Kevin Bacon), a frustrated husband (Rainn Wilson) decides he will win her back as Crimson Bolt, a costumed vigilante armed with a monkey wrench. His actions bring him an admirer, an overeager comic store clerk (Ellen Page) who wants to be his sidekick.

   This is the first time I’ve heard what the plot of this movie is, and it sounds really good! I mean, Kevin Bacon? As a drug dealer? Come on.

   I’m going to see this at the Toronto International Film Fest! I’ll be there for the midnight screening, and there should be a Q&A after which will include Rainn. He’s tweeted that he’ll be there. Yay!

   I was at this Q&A!

   Super is a lot of fun – but CRAZY violent. I wasn’t quite prepared for that based on the synopsis. That said, Rainn is awesome in it.

    I am SO incredibly excited for this movie.

    It was filmed in my hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. Not only that but it just looks ridiculously awesome in the first place.

    I’d like to give a shout-out to Gerry May of our local KTBS 3 who is the anchor featured on the news clip playing on the TV mounted on the wall in the trailer. :D
