  1. That is awesome news!! Congrats to James and all those who put the petition together!

  2. I wouldn’t say the petition did much. Will & Grace, My Name is Earl, and The Office are all extended 10 minutes more to fill the gap left by Four Kings.

  3. From Maureen Ryan’s “The Watcher” column in the Chicago Tribune:

“To the great credit of everyone associated with SupersizedOffice.com, the finale of the great NBC comedy “The Office” will indeed by supersized, to 40 minutes. The show’s executive producer, Greg Daniels, asked for it here, and thousands of “Office” devotees, through that fan-created site, delivered.”

Thanks, Maureen! It was your article that started it all!

  4. Jaclyn, I wonder about the effect of the petition myself. It might have provided the initial spark of the idea, but as James says over at Northern Attack, the fact that *all* the comedies that night are now supersized, take some attention away from The Office.

  5. YAY! I can’t effing wait. Although, a part of me is sad b/c it’s the season finale. I heard they’re playing random episodes on NBC.com throughout the summer…is that true??

  6. It’s good that it super-sized but I wish we coulda had an hour. Friends almost always had hour finales. I know this ain’t Friends but still…

  7. Good finale. Liked the funny stuff, but like many comdies before it, now they’ve got a 500-pound gorilla to deal with. Jim and Pam. Serious emotions. Feelings. Relationships. All very compelling, but how will they be able to co-exist with the petty goings-on of day-to-day office routine that is the show’s forte?
