Tallyhead appears on ‘Jeopardy’

the-office-jeopardyTallyhead Sugahwafuhs, aka Leigh Rosenecker, appears on the Jeopardy TV game show today!

Why is this of interest, you ask?

Perhaps being an Office fan helped during Final Jeopardy. ;)

Leigh entered the Final Jeopardy round in second place with $15,000, behind the first place guy who had $26,400.

The category:
1989 No. 1 Hits

The question (answer):
“The Billboard Book of No. 1 Hits says this song brought mail from history teachers who hailed it as an educational aid.”

She wrote down the right answer, wagered $11,398, bringing her total to $26,398.

The first place guy didn’t get the answer right, wagered $3,601, bringing his total to $22,799.

LEIGH WON!!!

So what was the answer/question, Tallyheads?

Here’s what Leigh said:

I was getting killed the whole game by this MACHINE of a player, and then the FJ category was revealed: 1989 #1 Hits. I am a total music dork, so I was thrilled.

The answer was “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” It took all I had to keep a poker face! The unbeatable guy was only 25, and got it wrong — so I ended up winning!

I knew the answer anyway, but all I could think that week was “RYAN STARTED THE FIRE! IT WAS ALWAYS BURNIN’, SINCE THE WORLD’S RETURNIN’!”

(Dwight sings “Ryan Started The Fire” in The Office Season 2 episode, The Fire.)

  1. Awesome! I was on Jeopardy and had an Office question and it was before I was a fan. Lucky for me, I got it right!

  2. I’m watching right now. 1989 Hits, huh?

Also, John Krasinski was the answer to a question last week – it was a question about 30th birthdays.

  3. Congrats Leigh! It was probably a big relief to see the answer.
And now that song is officially stuck in my head again…

  4. My dance class ran late and I missed it :(. How’d she do? Oh, and what was the potentially Office-related Final Jeopardy question?

  5. Yea, can someone please tell us what the question was? We don’t get Jeopardy in Singapore!!

  7. What is “We Didn’t Start the Fire?”

I watched and got the answer right, but I couldn’t figure out where the Office reference was. Then as I was singing it out loud, without meaning to, I sang “Ryan started the fire” instead of “we didn’t start the fire” and started laughing.

That was quite a comeback. I figured the Geography Bee champ had it in the bag after he won $10,000 on the daily double question.

  9. I live like 30 minutes from the town this woman lives in, in WV! It was awesome to see someone from my state being on Jeopardy and then to find out that she won, woohoo! You go Leigh and go Mountaineers! Lol

  10. I was watching last night with my family, they thought it was cool because I live in Morgantown! I couldn’t believe it when she won, I thought for sure the guy that was way ahead would get it. Awesome for her!

  11. How awesome is that! Being an Office fan even gave you money!!!! Kudos Leigh!!!
My heart soars with the eagle’s nest!

  12. Thanks for the love, y’all! I blew my second game and now it’s over, but thanks for cheering me on. I would have gotten that one even without the cheesy pita, but it made it so much sweeter. (Cheese makes everything better, doesn’t it?)

  13. My favorite part of last night’s game was when Leigh made a reference to “Eep Op Orp Ah Ah” – I laughed til I cried. I’m so grateful that someone else remembers my favorite Jetson’s episode!

  14. Alex thought I was a freak. He may be right, I may be crazy. (Hey! Billy Joel pun! Almost…) After I was done, my husband gave me an Eep Op. Those are five of the sweetest syllables ever said.

Melissa – when were you on?? That’s awesome! I saw a triple stumper once asking for the Anthracite capital of the World. I was yelling at the TV. I hope that wasn’t you!
