Bummer about supporting…,but I see Will Arnett got a nod for G.O.B., which is very cool. I’m sure many of you were Arrested fans! RIP :(
I am NOT happy about getting snubbed in the supporting actor/actress categories, but I’m ecstatic about all the other nominations!!! Fingers crossed!!!
Congratulations to everyone who works on the show – they all contributed to the Outstanding Comedy nomination, as it wouldn’t have been possible without every person on the show. What an emsemble. Hurray for all of them!

I’m not as upset as I thought I would be about none of the supporting cast getting nominated. Probably because as has been said before, if any of the supporting cast should receive nominations, all should receive nominations. Unless it was just Jenna and/or Rainn. Then I’d still be ecstatic.

And even if supporting charactors were snubbed ((Which really isn’t right)) they all did contribute for the show and it seriously deserves to win oustanding comedy. I mean, that’s exactly what the show is right?

There will not be a more beautiful sight than if The Office wins Best Comedy and we get to see the entire cast and staff go up on stage to receive the award! :)
I don’t think we’ll win many. This year isn’t our year. After the loss of Will and Grace and Arrested Development, the declining ratings of desperate housewives, and just the fact that there are to many hospital shows, I think that we will do much better next year.
Speaking of snubs, I think Casting and Directing should have gotten nods too.
Is it just me, or are there better episodes for Emmy consideration than Booze Cruise and Christmas Party? Is there a cutoff date that eliminates some of the great episodes in the latter part of the season?
The eligibility period is June 1, 2005 through May 31, 2006.
Kev, what episodes do you think should have been given Emmy consideration? I love “Christmas Party,” (it’s a top 3 for me) but you’re right – there are probably some from later in the season I’d like Emmy voters to see, too. I’m thinking “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” :-)
How does this new Emmy system work exactly? I would have liked to see Rainn nominated or more writing/directing/etc nominations, but oh well. And go Will Arnett, whoooo!!! And of course Steve & the Office for best comedy.

Woot. The Office got nominated! I’m psyched! I wish John, Rainn, or Jenna got nominated for the supporting roles, but oh well. Actually…i’m kind of angry they didn’t…oh, but i am happy about Arrested Development. Yay!

Congrats on the nominations!!!! Who here thinks that they should show the clip when they were talking about Afgani’s with AIDS in Casino Night when they roll through the comedy listings during the show? :) That little 10-15 seconds blip is priceless.
I agree Ian. One of the funniest scenes ever. Although I wonder if the Emmy bigwigs would be too afraid to show jokes involving AIDS and Afghanistan to an audience who may not be familiar with the show (i.e, people who may not understand the humor in it)?
Man, there are so many great scenes to choose from. To find one that captures it perfectly in like 20 seconds is gonna be tough!

Do we know which episode(s) The Office submitted in the nomination round for the Outstanding Comedy Series and for Lead Actor categories? It looks like Christmas Party was submitted several times, so I’d assume they submitted that for Best series as well. What do you think Steve’s best episode was?

Lindsay, “Booze Cruise” was submitted for Best Comedy Series. Not sure if a separate episode was submitted for Lead Comedy Actor.
Oh my gosh, the AIDS scene in Casino Night would be great! Or the van scene from The Injury! They better play a good clip, one that really captures the brilliance of the show.

HAHAHA…I think they should DEFINITELY show the “Afghanistananis” clip at the Emmy Awards, if not for any other reason except for the fact that it was cut out of tonight’s rerun of Casino Night!!! I was so sad!!!
Yep, I know the show had submitted Booze Cruise for its nomination tape, but I am not sure either what Steve Carell submitted. I had heard Booze Cruise or Christmas Party, but I don’t think I saw that confirmed anywhere.
At this point, The Office has to submit 6 episodes to the panel that will pick the winners for best comedy series. Each judge is given a pair of those episodes to view. I’ve been trying to think what pairs they might submit…
Christmas Party & Booze Cruise is probably one, although Booze Cruise & The Secret would also be good. The Dundies & Casino Night could potentially work together. They might also submit The Fire or Take Your Daughter to Work Day because I think those two had been submitted in the writing category (so they probably deem them to be good shots at awards).
I am so glad that The Office has been nominated for 5 emmys. I can hardly wait to see the award show!! It was great to see the final show of last season on Thursday. I loved seeing the “kiss” again. Next season will be exciting to see how they go with the Roy, Pam and Jim story line. What a great show!!!
