The Office gets highest ratings of season

The Office garnered the highest ratings of the season with last Thursday’s episode, Traveling Salesmen.

From Media Life Magazine:

“The Office” built to an impressive 5.0 at 8:30 p.m., a season high and its best since one year ago.

… “Office” jumped 16 percent over the previous week’s 4.3.

Among total viewers, “Office” had its best outing in a year, with 10.2 million …

And this from Hollywood Reporter:

“My Name Is Earl” (10.9 million, 4.7/13) and “The Office” (10.2 million, 5.0/13) … won the hour in adults 18-49.

WOO-HOO!

  1. just to let you know, the office was mentioned a bunch of times during the weekly update in SNL today. =]

  2. It must be true. I am adult between 18 and 49 and I was watching The Office that night.

  3. I’m 14. I’ve never missed an episode after I saw ‘Health Care’.

I wonder what the ratings are for teens?

None of my friends watch. :(

  4. AWESOME.
ooh allysa – what were the office mentions on SNL about?
anyone know of a torrent for SNL i can grab?

  5. Damn, I’m sorry I missed SNL now – I bet it’s because that guy from SNL did the voice for “Harvey” the computer.

That episode had better have gotten high ratings – it was amazing!

  6. the SNL skit was during weekend update when “steve jobs” came on to talk about the new iphone. he said this and that and how you can watch the office on it. he said that like three times. pretty awesome. but we know why that was, because he used the office for the demo.
it was a funny skit. i love fred armisen.

  7. I don’t know if anyone is familiar with the website nobodyswatching.tv but in their most recent video, “6 Years of According to Jim in 90 seconds” they briefly mentioned The Office. It’s a pretty cool site to check out.

  8. Oh, I’m really sorry I missed that on SNL last night. I have to admit, not so much because of The Office mention, but because the last time the did a Steve Jobs take-off it was so great. One of the funniest sketches I’ve seen in a while. I even bought it off iTunes. Hm, one big circular advertisement .. . .

  9. its not really a program, it’s uh.. it’s an actor. but they have text-to-speech programs around, just google it.
im so glad the office beat EARL. GOD I HATE EARL. honestly, compared to The Office its absolutely nothing. nothing.

  10. I thought Earl was REALLY funny this week, and very clever. The Office is better, and definitely my favorite, but Earl is really good, too. I’d rather see a million Earls than one more According to Jim, Yes Dear, etc.

As for the ratings, that’s such great news! I hope it continues to build. This episode was totally deserving of the super ratings…by far the funniest episode of the season.

Getting ready to watch the Golden Globes. I hope tonight is a happy one for The Office!

  11. Oh, and the funniest part of the Weekend Update with Steve Jobs is when Seth asked how long the battery lasts, and he goes, “20 minutes.” Ha!!!!!!
