So, what’s the deal with this new chick that’s supposedly being hired as the Dunder-Mifflin receptionist? — JJ
If you read my February 20th post in which I told you Michael would be walking out on D-M and taking a pretty major employee with him, the new receptionist they’re hiring makes complete sense. Yeah. I said it. See ya, Beasley.

I hope it’s Pam that follows Michael out. It’d make more “entertainment/drama” sense than Dwight following him, since those two could theoretically have their own separate show. — CPP
Well, I think you may just get your wish, guy. I mean, they won’t have their own separate show, but they will have their own separate paper company. One that has little chance of survival of course. But that doesn’t mean the duo isn’t really going for it. Charles Miner (Idris Elba) will be spending a lot of time in Scranton.

Mar. 25: Ausiello Files

Ausiello: Regarding Office scoop, we’ll soon learn that Ryan pulled a Margene during his time away. (Ask a Big Love fan; they’ll know what I’m getting at.)

Ausiello: Think Michael’s abrupt resignation last week was nothing more than a one or two episode sweeps stunt? Think again. Not only will his departure stick, he’ll decide to start up his own paper company — presumably one that competes directly with Dunder Miff!

Kyle in Los Angeles: Loving The Office this season. Any new info?

Last week show runner Jen Celotta told fans last week that new boss Charles Miner (Idris Elba), “Continues to not be impressed with Jim.” What? Who wants to live in a world where Jim is not universally beloved?! Not us. Oh, and speaking of new boss Charlie Miner, Leslie David Baker says that Stanley isn’t necessarily going to be delighted with the departure of old boss Michael Scott. It “depends,” says Baker, on whether the new boss is better for Stanley’s fortunes than the old boss. Last but not least, Kate Flannery spills that in the season finale, “We’ll answer some old questions.”

Mar. 20: Ausiello Files

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Ellie Kemper, a veteran of the SNL breeding ground known as Upright Citizens Brigade, has been cast as the show’s new (wait for it… ) receptionist!

  • Is Phyllis pregnant?
  • Jenna Fischer doesn’t think a JAM wedding happens this season.
  • Dwight goes on dates.

Mar. 17: E! Online

The U.K.’s Daily Record reported on Friday that Ricky Gervais is heading to the U.S. to make a cameo on the last episode of The Office as David Brent, the boss of the BBC version of our favorite comedy.

Well, we got the real deal from executive producer Paul Lieberstein (Toby!).

“We love Ricky, but have not had any discussions about an appearance on the U.S. show,” says Paul. “And we haven’t given any thought to the final show because it is probably a zillion episodes away.”

The only guests scheduled for now are the previously announced Idris Elba (The Wire, Rocknrolla), who comes back this week, and Amy Ryan (The Wire, Gone Baby Gone), who will return as H.R. goddess Holly Flax by the final episode of the season.

Mar. 12: UK Daily Record

RICKY Gervais is set to bring back his David Brent character in the US version of The Office.

It will be the meeting of the two wackiest minds in the paper supplies business when David Brent UK comes face-to-face with his US counterpart.

Gervais is tipped to resurrect the Slough boss in a cameo role in the last episode of the US version.

Please note this spoiler doesn’t indicate a specific season, has NOT been confirmed by NBC, and hasn’t been reported by any other press yet. Hmmm. If you see any other details, please post a comment!

Mar. 5: Ask Ausiello

Question: Any Office scoop about when Amy Ryan will be back? Holly is Michael’s soul mate! — Erin

Ausiello: Exec producer Paul Lieberstein is confirming what I first told you back in January: Holly is returning for the season finale. “It’s a warm meeting of exes,” he says,” [albeit] exes who are not quite over each other.”

Mar. 3: TV GUIDE

Will there ever be a new episode of The Office? And what’s coming up for the folks at Dunder Mifflin? — Alisa

MICKEY: New episode Thursday! Have you ever wanted to know more about Kevin’s love life? Sure, we all have! Well, now’s your chance! In an upcoming episode, Kevin’s colleagues will band together to play Cupid for the portly pepperpot. What Scrantonicity!

Mar. 3: NBC PRESS RELEASE

In a press release entitled “NBC BREEZES INTO MARCH WITH LINEUP THAT SHOWCASES PREMIERES OF ‘KINGS’ AND ‘THE CHOPPING BLOCK’ AS WELL AS CONTINUING ‘FUGITIVES’ VOLUME OF ‘HEROES’ AND CHALLENGING NEW EPISODES OF ‘THE BIGGEST LOSER: COUPLES’ AND ‘THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE’,” a list of guest stars is included, with this mention of Idris Elba:

Mar. 2: NBC UNIVERSAL MEDIA VILLAGE

  1. 1651. beer me, Milwaukee

Good episode..definitely not my favorite finale, it should have been supersized..or an hour. And where was my girl Kelly at??! Thought we might see some Kelly/Andy love as a surprise or something crazy like that!

Erin saying BOOYAH got andy a little blood rush, don’t ya think?! HA!

Jenna and John (and Steve of course!) are such phenomenal actors…totally deserving of every award! I mean, the whole show should be nominated & winning for everything!!

  2. 1650. gatinha

JAMbino is an awesome name! Love it!

  3. 1649. AndIHaveWorms

Oh yeah, and I think Jambino should be the baby’s nickname!

  4. 1648. AndIHaveWorms

Several of us were talking in the chatroom about tonight’s episode, and we all think it would be a great idea to have a predictions page for season six! What do ya say, Tanster? Predictions on whether the Jam baby will be a boy or girl… etc. :-)

I think it would be a hit! Pretty please? ;-)

  5. 1647. Only Eight Nards

    Totally called Brian Stack!

  6. 1646. pk

omg!!! did you guys see what just happened???

  7. 1645. jp halpsly

Could the pregnancy and the ‘twist with repercussions well into next season’ be that Michael and Holly go off together during the picnic and make a baby?

  8. 1644. Olivia

I am going to guess that the relationship that does not progress is Jim and Pam’s.

Don’t get me wrong – I love them together. I just thing that all of the spoilers that have been released – the pregnancy spoiler and then Pam going to the hospital and all of the stuff about the wedding – are meant to make us think that they are going to get married or Pam’s going to be pregnant (or both). I think they are trying to lead us off the trail.

My guess is the pregnant one is Holly. I think that’s why she and her boyfriend are shopping for a house.

  9. 1643. rockin'robin

OMG you guys, watch this promo!!

    Link

Maybe the big twist is that the scranton branch shuts down and moves somewhere else. I dunno, but that’s what I got outta that promo, all the scranton workers seem super hypo + Jim and Dwight are getting in the same car!! What do ya think?

  10. 1642. Guy Incognito

I would think that Todd Packer is the not-seen-since-Season-2 character coming back; for good reason as he presumably still works for Dunder Mifflin in some capacity.

If Pam is indeed the character that is pregnant I’m going to be pretty disappointed as that’s not what her character needs attm after her recent career change. Angela would be a whole lot funnier to see. Obviously it would be Dwight’s baby as she and Andy never got “there.”

  11. 1641. jp halpsly

1647. Garbage: Do all of your predictions involve Katy having Jim’s kid? This is like the third time you’ve predicted that.

  12. 1640. NotaBadDay

Tanster, didn’t you tell us that you saw every scene filmed in the finale except ONE? Do you know what happened during that scene? Just askin. Not that I can pry it out of you. Cookie, Tanster. Cookie… :-)

  13. 1639. jif08

person we haven’t seen since season 2

    stacy.
(poor kevin…how’s he gonna handle lynn AND stacy)

  14. 1638. SSE

Just because one relationship doesn’t progress, it doesn’t mean it will regress, either, right? Surely you can tell us that much, Tanster??? I’m getting sooooo anxious!

  15. 1637. tanster

I am just about ready to explode, holding all this information in. :)

  16. 1636. Garbage

Maybe Jim and Pam will have a huge fight and break up. How awesome would that be? Ooh what if Katy comes back and has a kid that turns out to be Jim’s and he has to pay child support now? Now that would be a great twist.

  17. 1635. Sharon J

I think the surprise is that when Pam is rushed to the hospital for her ankle, they find out she’s pregnant when they run a blood test or something.

  18. 1634. Lightning Swing

@ 1642: Karen was pregnant in the episode, “Lecture Circuit”, so there’s a possibility that she could be on maternity leave. I can’t wait for tonight’s season finale and to see what the big twist is at the end!

  19. 1633. Scrantonicity 3

I’m upset it’s only a half hour episode!

  20. 1632. jp halpsly

I’m guessing that the relationship that does not progress will be JAM’s. Not to say that they’ll regress or have some sort of negativity, they’re just in a stable place right now.
