Here are a couple of photos of Dan and Erin, real-life husband and wife, who just happened to be paired for the week as picnicking husband and wife with two kids! In fact, I think they were the only extras who were given a stroller and fake babies (the babies looked good, didn’t they?).
I got to hang out with them quite a bit throughout the week. They are both actors and avid Office fans.
I have spotted Dan and Erin all over the episode, have you? Even in the deleted scenes!
Here is Brian, boom operator. He told me his back is “totally shot” from holding the boom.
He let me hold it. (That’s what she said.)
When it’s extended out all the way, it’s super hard to hold. (That’s what she said!!!)
Okay, I’ll stop now. I’ve been waiting to say that for weeks.
But seriously, it’s no wonder that Brian’s back is shot. While there are two guys working cameras, there’s only one of Brian, as far as I can tell.
Just like the cast, Brian, Randall, and Matt (2nd camera operator) are “wrangled” by the PAs, meaning they have people literally follow them around all day to bring them back to set when they’re needed. Filming can’t happened without camera and sound!
A couple of Akron extras waiting for their cue to walk into the background of scene #22 — “Michael and Holly catch up on things.”
That food on her plate is fake picnic food. Well, it’s not actually fake, but you can’t eat it. It was sitting out all week. It looked really good, though!
