The Office’s Creed Bratton performs a free show this Thursday, May 26, at the Elbo Room in Chicago!
If you’re not familiar with Creed’s musical talents, he was a member of the 1960s rock band, The Grass Roots. His latest solo album is ‘Bounce Back,’ which includes the catchy single ‘Rubber Tree’ (view and download free here!).
Last Saturday night at the Hotel Cafe, The 3DVB’s fronted by Creed Bratton on vocals and rhythm guitar played a tight, fun, enthusiastic set of songs from their newly released LP Bounce Back. Though currently best known for his role in the hit television show The Office, Bratton’s history in the music industry goes back to the early sixties and includes generating top hits during that era. Earlier in the day, before the Hotel Cafe show, the Examiner had a moment to sit down and talk with Creed about this history, changes in the Los Angeles music scene over time, and the relationship between his acting and music careers.
It takes a special sort of person to even be in the running for the weirdest person on “The Office,” but Creed Bratton has arguably claimed that mantle: the character (who shares his name with the actor who portrays him) turns up only once or twice an episode, usually to say something totally outrageous to the camera, make a leering remark about a female co-worker or just to impersonate the Joker from “The Dark Knight.” But he always makes an impression.
Second, Creed wanted to give OfficeTally readers a sneak peek at his groovy new website, www.creedbrattonbounceback.com! Listen to tracks from his latest CD and watch some vintage Creed videos (including his jammin’ performance in The Office Season 2 episode ‘Booze Cruise’). Let’s defrost in a romantic mist, baby!
