Wendy meets Kate!

Good OT gal pal Wendy recently had the chance to meet Kate Flannery (“Meredith”)!

Here is Wendy’s report:

This event took place on Tuesday, October 24th at an M. Fredric Store in Studio City, CA. The event was sponsored by Tide because they were launching a line of Vintage Tide Tees. All the proceeds of one of these tees will benefit Take Action Hollywood, a charitable organization run by Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos, who served as the host/spokesperson for this Tide campaign. Kate was kind enough to stop by the event and could not have been sweeter. We loaded her down with gift bags for everyone in the cast and she was generous enough to distribute them to everyone on set a few days later. It was amazing to meet her as Meredith is one of my favorite characters on the show and I am also crazy about her act The Lampshades with Scot Robinson. She could not have been more gracious and more genuine in her love and appreciation of The Office fans everywhere.

Yay Wendy and Kate! And thanks for sending this awesome photo!

Kate and Angela at TVGuide.com

Kate Flannery (“Meredith”) has updated her TV Guide blog:

This week’s new episode is “The Initiation,” written by B.J. Novak. Salesman Dwight Schrute teaches Ryan-the-former Temp how to be a salesman for Dunder Mifflin. Aside from the beet farm, I can’t give away anything. But the NBC promos have shown a phone conversation between Pam and Jim! The first time they have spoken all season. I am not allowed to say anything but you cannot miss it! What a talented guy, that B.J. Novak is. Ryan’s desk faced Meredith’s desk last season and he would sit and write a new episode of The Office while the rest of us were doing our fake office work, or online with Myspace fans.

TVG.com also has posted a nice interview with Angela Kinsey:

TVGuide.com: How did she and Dwight get together in the first place?
Kinsey: I remember when we were at the table read for the “Jim’s Party” episode [when their relationship was revealed], Rainn and I just started cracking up. He said to me, “It just makes such perfect sense.” They have this dance they do with each other. They both crave power and authority, they take life and their jobs really seriously, and they’re really militant and like to follow lots of rules.

Kate and Melora in TV Guide

Kate Flannery (“Meredith”) has posted a new TV Guide blog about tonight’s episode:

The new episode is “Grief Counseling,” where Michael’s former boss suddenly dies in an accident … Michael’s old boss was Ed Truck, played by Ken Howard. Do you remember the Season 2 episode, “The Carpet,” when Ken Howard was a guest on the show? (I remember him from The White Shadow.) Well, that episode showed an “old” picture of Ed Truck and Michael Scott from the ’80s, where they each sported a mullet. You know what they say about a mullet, right? Business in the front and a PARTY IN THE BACK!!!!

TV Guide also features an interview with Melora Hardin (“Jan”):

Kate Flannery, who plays Meredith, is really funny. I love how she plays Meredith as so disgusted all the time with herself and with life … It’s hilarious, the faces she makes bowl me over. But I would have to say that the person who makes me laugh the most is Steve [Carell]. I’m a pretty intense straight man and sometimes I just can’t hold it together. There are some good bloopers on the Season 2 DVD.

Chili’s … baby back ribs … Chili’s baby back ribs … classic blooper!

Kate’s TV Guide blog

Kate Flannery (“Meredith”) has updated her TV Guide blog with a little information about tonight’s episode, “The Coup”:

Office fans, look out — behind every great man is a pushy woman. Or in this case, a pushy, short, judgmental blonde named Angela. It’s the ultimate Adam-and-Eve saga. Angela is about to push the apple in Dwight’s face as she persuades him to try to take Michael’s place at Dunder-Mifflin.

She also gives a shout-out to OfficeTally and Northern Attack. Thanks, Kate! :)
