  1. So I assume this is for season 9? I’m guessing yes, since Pete, Clark, and Nellie are credited as characters, and Gabe is missing.

  2. Paul, SAG Awards are for the calendar year 2012, so it includes parts of seasons 8 and 9. I don’t know why Gabe and Robert California aren’t on the list, unless it’s a clerical error in the nomination. SAG ensemble award nominations can be controversial because some recurring guest stars are included and some aren’t. Note that Mindy Kailing and B.J. Novak are included. Zach Woods and James Spader, call your agents. It’s worth looking into, because some names may be overlooked by accident.

  3. Happy for the nomination. Happier that Mindy and BJ received nods with the group, along with Clark Duke and Jake Lacy. And happiest that neither Zach Woods nor James Spader was included, as they were both absolutely awful on this show in 2012.

  4. You’re welcome, Paul! I actually e-mailed the SAG Awards to ask about this. To be nominated for the ensemble cast, an actor must appear in more than half of the episodes that air in a calendar year. 23 episodes of The Office aired in 2012. An actor would therefore need to appear in at least 12 episodes to qualify for the SAG ensemble award. Zach Woods only appeared in 10 of them. James Spader only appeared in 9. That is why they were not included in the nomination. However, Clark Duke has only appeared in 6 episodes and Jake Lacy in 9. The SAG awards require the network or studio to do the episode tally. They may make an exception for new additions to the cast.
