What’s for lunch?
Kate Flannery and Spencer Daniels.
When they were setting up this scene (see deleted scene #1), I walked up to Kate and said, “Oh it’s a shame they couldn’t get the same actor who played your son originally!” Kate replied, “No Jennie, that is my son. He’s just all grown up!”
Holy moly, did he ever grow! (That’s what she said.)
I talked with Spencer briefly, not so much about The Office, but about his part in one of my favorite episodes of the outrageous comedy “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” the 2005 episode inappropriately called “Charlie Wants an Abortion.” In it, Spencer actually spits in Charlie’s face. When I asked him about the story, Spencer laughed “It was a little over my head.” (He was 13 at the time.) Spencer also appeared in the latest Star Trek movie.
Kate joked with director Ken Kwapis that since Meredith locked Jake in the van all day, they should shoot another scene of the van all filled with smoke. Hee hee!
Kate and Spencer.
