  1. Love the trailer! My favorite part was when Max yelled “This is the best day of my life!”
    Thanks for posting it Tanster!

  2. Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart is perhaps the most perfect casting choice of modern times. I can’t help but wonder what his car will be… the TV show used a Sunbeam Tiger, which was a perfect choice.

  3. It’s funny how much more slapsticky (?!) the Portugese trailer is compared to the earlier American one. Steve’s still great :)

  4. I was alarmed at The Rock’s presence in the movie, but I think it will be well countered by Alan Alda and David Koechner.

  5. Okay…that looks hilarious! The beaded curtain part from the official trailer cracked me up. I haven’t seen much of the show but it looks like I won’t need to…can’t wait for June now!

  6. Oh man, Steve looks like he’s gonna be great in this, so excited to see it!!

‘This is the best day of my life!!!’

  7. hey the guy from borat is there, I hope we dont see so much of him this time! steve is the best!!!!!!!!

  8. Can’t wait to see this movie! I will watch anything with Steve Carell, but the rest of the cast seems great, too!

  9. What do they say when they are in the chamber? I can’t really understand it:

Did you see ….. while I was dancing?
    Just once, but I don’t think you’d expect ……..?

  10. The “element of Surpriiiiiiiiiise” phrase is different in each trailer. I like the one where he stretches it out longer (from the teaser), but both ways work… because he is FANTASTIC!!!! Dwayne Johnson is always very funny in other comedies I’ve seen him in, so I think he’ll be great!

I’m with the others who say, “Anything with Steve in it is something I’m going to watch”. I liked Evan Almighty (even though the critics hated it). Very excited to see this one! I loved the TV show!!

  11. “Did you see anything while I was dancing?”
“Just once, but I don’t think you expected him to lift you so high”

    lol Dirrrrty

  12. Having grown up with the original Get Smart, I have to say that I think this movie looks awful — not at all true to the TV series. Steve Carell is a wonderful comedian but nobody can ever be Maxwell Smart like Don Adams could. This is, to me, yet another example of Hollywood trying to cash in on something that proved itself to be successful long ago. I’d much prefer to see Steve in something original, quite frankly.

  13. Having grown up watching the original “Get Smart,” I think this movie is going to be loads of flipping funny!!! I am counting down the days as we speak. Steve Carell is going to play the perfect Maxwell Smart.

  14. I can’t wait to see this. I’m a huge fan of the original and I have complete faith in Steve Carell. When I read that Bernie Kopell would appear in a cameo I just about screamed! Siegfried is one of my all time favorite TV characters. “Zis is KAOS, ve don’t do that here!”

  15. Steve will no doubt never disappoint me in a movie. His comedic timing and expressions are always perfect! I can’t wait to see this film – and I heart Dwayne Johnson! So freakin cute!

  16. Never seen the original series, so can’t really comment on whether or not the movie is faithful or not. I’m glad to see that Mel Brooks and the guy he co-created it with actually get the credits they deserved. I heard some awful behind the scenes stories that had to do with that.

As intrigued as I was before, the ‘cone of silence’ moment cinched it for me. I want to see this movie even more.

I don’t know why, but Steve Carrell screaming is when he’s at his funniest.

  17. I’m so excited! I have never seen the series either, but my sister and mom have and whenever they see the trailers for this movie they get so excited.

  18. I saw the new trailer this morning when I went to see Semi-Pro. Can’t wait for this one to come out!

  19. “Mom, mom, mom, mom…”
“Sean, Sean, Sean, Sean… See how annoying that is!”

Reminds me too much of my kids and myself.. yikes!

  20. Spare a thought for us in the UK. We don’t get this film until 15th August!!

Can’t believe I’m going to have to wait that long.

    Sulking now!

  21. I saw the trailer for this at Leatherheads (no joke!) and it looks pretty good! It’s Michael Scott’s greatest dream to be in a spy movie! But the whole time I’m watching it, I’ll be thinking of Threat Level Midnight. :)

  22. There’s that brown jacket again!! Can’t wait for this one, Steve is beyond awesome

  23. my favorite part of the mtv movie piece is when steve started beating up the news reporter

  24. Heh, The Rock smells like fresh cookies! I love steve. and I’m dorkily excited for this movie!

  25. Did anyone else think that the reporter was actually really peeved about Steve grabbing his butt? At the very, very end, he’s TICKED! He might need to get a new job if that is his focus after getting the OPPORTUNITY to talk with a star of Steve’s level.
As always, Steve (and his jacket) looked great!

  26. Got the newsletter from my favourite radio station here in Ontario, Canada which had an interview with Steve. It’s short but sweet.

  27. Just saw Get Smart… don’t listen to what some of the critics say, my friends and I loved it. Trust me. Go see it!!

  28. Saw Get Smart today and really enjoyed it. I would see it again. Does anyone know, was that really Steve’s tush?

  29. I saw Get Smart yesterday. SO funny. I had pretty low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. Really funny and great fun. GO STEVE!
