Season 2 DVDs to release Sept. 12

It’s official — The Office Season 2 DVD set will be released September 12!

It is a 4-disc set. According to Jenna’s and Angela’s MySpace blogs, the set will include episode commentaries, webisodes, the PSAs, the Olympics promos, deleted scenes, and Jenna’s home movies!

There is a pre-order link on the details page with a purchase price of $37.98, but it doesn’t look like it’s working yet.

  1. Oh we should have a Office marathon together. Maybe spread it out over a couple of days. I think that would be so fun.

  3. September 12 is going to be a near-orgasmic cornucopia of home entertainment bliss.

    My favorite TV show ever (combining the British and American versions just to be safe) with its newest release. My favorite band of all time (Barenaked Ladies) with its newest release. I’m getting a little verklempt.

  4. I don’t see where it mentions having outtakes, but man I hope it does!! Those always get me rolling on the floor. I think that seeing a scene in its final cut after seeing what parts made the actors laugh makes the scene even funnier. :)

    Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all get together and have our own real life “Office”-viewing marathon? Chips, drinks, dozing on the couch…I don’t know anyone in real life who watches the show (except my sister and my husband, and only if I ask them to), so this would be fun :-)

  7. Emma, I had no trouble finding season 1 in the record stores like HMV & Sunrise Records. They tend to be more expensive than in the US though. I’m sure it will also be available through amazon.ca.

  10. I hope The Office Season 2 will be for sale in Canada. I’ve looked around at a number of places for the first season but have not had much luck; maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places?

    Anyway, September 12 seems an eternity away, but I know it will come fast. ’sara’ I will most definetly be having an Office marathon too!

  16. Yay a release date! Too bad it’s gotta be 3 months away. But with all the extras they’re putting on there, it’ll be worth the wait! And I agree-the hours on the DVD’s got to be more than 8. The last one has about half hour less run time than the other 3, so maybe that one will have most of the extras on it ’cause they’ll be able to add more stuff onto the end of it. Just a guess……

  18. I think 8 hours is only for episode run time. If you add up all the first 21 episodes which clock in at about 21 minutes 30 sec, plus the finale that was closer to 30 minutes, you get 8 hours. So I guess this counts doesn’t include bonus features.

  20. LT, you are so right — the numbers don’t add up! I got 8 hours by adding up the times of each DVD on the details page. That’s gotta be wrong …
