The Office Set Visit 2009: Day 3

Entrance into the picnic grounds. The props, art, and set dressing departments really did an outstanding job of turning a bare meadow into a festive picnic ground!

Yummy-looking picnic food. Sitting out all week!

Carnival games area. I filmed my first scene here as an extra on Monday, but it wasn’t part of the final episode.

At one point, Rainn comes over to me and asks, ‘Jennie, do you know what the policy is on releasing pictures? I want to Tweet one.” I suggested no photos of non-regulars. He posted this photo.

Me and Idris Elba (“Charles Miner”). He couldn’t have been more lovely. He mentioned how he read fan feedback about how disliked Charles was.

It’s really interesting that both Idris and Rob Huebel (Holly’s boyfriend A.J.) both remarked to me about the negative fan feedback toward their characters. Rob kept saying to me, “I’m sorry for taking Holly away!”

    Oh man, those call times….good grief! Hope you’re a morning person! While I’d probably be psyched to get up in the dark if there was, say, a flight to Paris to be taking, or an Office extra to be, I’d still be half zombie/half headless chicken trying to pull it together enough in order to be punctual for those start times. Good work!

    [from tanster: it was really tough, lol. especially since i'm a late night person, and didn't go to sleep before midnight most nights. still, i would do it again in a second. ;) ]

    Well, after analyzing screencaps from Chair Model, The Alliance and Gay Witch Hunt for the ring challenge, I’m still stumped but I’ll give it a shot.

    1. Since this looks like a wedding set I’m gonna say Phyllis even though the screenshot from Gay Witch Hunt looks just like the 2nd ring.
    2. Definitely Pam’s from Jim (Chair Model)
    3. Pam’s from Roy, I think (The Alliance when Jim grabs her hand while telling her about the prank)

    Great report Tanster!

    This ring quiz is driving me nuts! Phyllis definitely has a marquise shaped diamond and so I’m leaning towards the one on the left which also has a wedding band shown. Pam’s ring is the obvious choice for the second but after the engagement episode Jenna said that the ring was yellow AND white gold. Who knows where the 3rd belongs! I’m stumped.

    Thanks for another amazing set report, Tanster! I know you probably can’t answer this, but I’m guessing “Beth” is a lot like Angela…I’ve always wondered if there are clones at the other branches
    :-D.
