Angela live at iO West April 16

Angela Kinsey will be the featured guest performer in iO West’s “The Armando Show” on Monday, April 16 in Los Angeles.

From the iO West website:

The Armando Show begins with one suggestion from the audience, which is then interpreted by that night’s Armando (frequently a celebrity guest) through a personal and truthful improvised monologue. Inspired by that monologue, a cast composed of veteran Chicago and Los Angeles alumni perform scenes which, in turn inspire a response from Armando. This propels hilarious interchanges between Armando’s monologues and the company’s scenes.

Tickets are $10.

‘The Office’ put Scranton on map

From the Scranton Times-Tribune:

Many fans … are stopping here on their own, leading a local group to think the TV show and its legions of devotees might flock to an organized “Office Convention,” similar to wildly popular “Star Trek” conventions around the country.

The potential of “Office”-themed events was seen when Rainn Wilson, who portrays Dwight Schrute on the show, visited the city and drew throngs of fans to the Mall at Steamtown on Dec. 17.

The “Office” convention steering committee plans a formal call for volunteers in the next few weeks, and would like to host the event in October or November — downtime in television production when cast members may be available.

NBC.com updates Office features

From an NBC press release:

NBC.com has just launched “The Office” Quotes Game. The game was originally developed by “Office” message board users who were challenging each other to identify the character who had spoken a specific quote. Now when users get the quote, episode and character correct, they will be rewarded with the video of the scene itself.

In another feature from “The Office,” NBC.com asks fans to share with the character Toby, their worst Human Resources nightmares. Users submit video clips of themselves as they tell the online audience about their funniest HR stories.

The HR Nightmares page has a new Toby clip. The quotes game is still darned picky.

Katy meets B.J.

b.j. novak Duquesne katy

SPOILER WARNING! Report and subsequent comments will contain spoilers. (Not too spoilery, though.)

OT reader Katy wrote in with an excellent report of B.J. Novak’s appearance at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh last night:

“BJ Novak was appearing at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, last night (3/31/07) to do stand-up for the college crowd. The university’s program council was also hosting an accompanying Casino Night and Diversity Dance (they really know their Office stuff!). The whole evening was to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He was set to be on stage at 8 pm, but when we got there around 7 the ushers said his flight from LA was delayed and he wouldn’t be on stage until roughly 11pm. Bummer! Instead, we hung out and gambled with charity money, and even watched episodes from both seasons 1 & 2 on the big screen until it was time. There were also raffles for various prize packages, some including Office memorabilia (but we didn’t even enter since we already owned that stuff!)
