Schrute Farms on TripAdvisor

From today’s New York Times:

In September 2007, [The Office] asked to use TripAdvisor, a travel Web site, in an episode in which Dwight turns his beet farm into a bed and breakfast… TripAdvisor set up a review page, thinking it would be good for a quick laugh or two… But Schrute Farms is still doing big business… Reruns and DVDs keep inspiring new visits to the site and there are now over 600 reviews…

  1. How funny! I could spent hours reading reviews, so cute that Trip Advisor loves it and keeps it up for fun.

  2. my review: I found the farms owner Dwight and his off beat cousin Mose kind and entertaining. This farm was a great location for my friends and I to get away and appreciate the countryside. We learned things we could not have learned if we had not gone here, such as making a table. I especially appreciated this activity because I now hand make tables for doll houses and even made one for the doll house of President Obama’s children. This amazing experience and life change would not have been possible or realized without Schrute farms! So thank you!

  3. man, that is such an epic win. and such great PR for TripAdvisor

i especially love the site’s message: “Message from TripAdvisor: As seen on NBC’s The Office. Have fun reading these reviews – go on, add your own! Just don’t try to book a visit here, because this fictional place doesn’t really exist.”

  4. I can’t believe someone actually complained that it wasn’t real to tripadvisor. They wanted to go to a beet farm B&B???

  5. Oh my! I just saw this episode on DVD last night!, so awesome that this came up, so cool!
