GMMR interviews David Denman

Give Me My Remote scores another exclusive interview, this time with The Office’s David Denman (“Roy”).

An excerpt:

“One of the things that I have spoken to the writers and Greg Daniels about was that we really only show one side of Roy, and it’s not a pretty one. So it would be nice to actually see some other sides … Roy doesn’t think about a lot of things that he should to be Pam’s partner, so maybe he’ll start thinking about things more next season.”

Read Part 1 of the interview here. Watch for Part 2 tomorrow. Nice job, GMMR!

Scoop from Angela on Season 2 DVD

Angela’s just posted a new entry in her MySpace blog about the Season 2 DVD:

I’ve been told the Season 2 DVD will have hours of deleted scenes that have never been shown anywhere … basically hours and hours of extras on a four disc set … It should hit the stores in September a few weeks before our Season 3 starts!

Read her full post here. Thanks, Angela, for the scoop! The DVD set sounds AWESOME.

I’ve added some “best guess” entries in the Calendar — these dates are not confirmed:

  • Sept. 5: Office Season 2 DVD released. I’m guessing Sept. 5 because DVD releases seem to happen on Tuesdays, don’t ask me why. And with Angela saying that the Season 2 DVD would release a few weeks before the start of Season 3, this looks about right.
  • Sept. 21: Office Season 3 premiers. I’m guessing Sept. 21 because Season 2 premiered last Sept. 20th.

Of course, as soon as I can confirm the dates, I will post them here!

Jenna reports DVD commentary is recorded

Jenna’s posted a new entry in her MySpace blog, and mentions that the cast spent last Saturday and yesterday recording DVD commentary for the Season 2 DVD. Jenna says the DVD will includes lots of extras, including deleted scenes and her very own home movies!

This is going to be sooo great.

Read her post here. Now if we could just get a release date …

John Krasinski live chat on Friday

This just in from OT reader Sam:

Hey, just wanted to let you know that John Krasinski will be participating in a live chat with office fans and emmy-predicting enthusiasts on the Goldderby Forum (an emmy discussion site) on Friday at 2 pm eastern. Lisa Kudrow and Lauren Graham have already participated. It’s free to register and join the site, though Tom O’Neil (the LA Times reporter who will be hosting the chat) mentioned that he may boot people from the chat who have very recently joined the site. He wants longtime goldderby participators to be able to chat with Krasinski. Anyway, just a heads up! Come chat with Jim!

Thanks, Sam, for the tip!

Carell to get pay raise?

Hollywood Reporter details a potential pay raise for Steve Carell for Season 3 of The Office:

Sources said the per-episode fee for the “Office” star will more than double next season to the neighborhood of $175,000.

That still seems like a paltry sum, if you ask me, especially if he wins an Emmy this year.

The renegotiated terms of Carell’s deal do not include adding years to the actor’s original contract, sources said.

Does anyone know how many years are stipulated in his original contract? I can’t imagine The Office without him!

A reminder that the “Ladies from The Office” Angela Kinsey, Jenna Fischer, and Kate Flannery perform Tuesday night at 9pm at the Improv Comedy Festival’s Celebrity show in Los Angeles.

Tickets are $10 — you can buy them here.

I unfortunately can’t be there, but I hope an OfficeTally reader can provide a report tomorrow!

Update:

  • TWOP members tvguru94 and rspad have posted write-ups of the show — read them here.
  • Find photos of the event here, here, and here.

Thanks to rspad for the tip! And you should have gone up to Angela and talked to her. ;)

Welcome, Madge, to the MySpace fray!

I got a very nice email last week from Karly Rothenberg, the actress who plays “Madge” (from the warehouse gang):

“Hi Tanster,

My name is Karly Rothenberg, and I do play “Madge,” the East German looking gal. I have my fingers crossed that good ole Madge will return for more episodes in season three and am grateful that folks like you are spreading the word about my being a small but very happy part of the gang.

I was cast in the Basketball episode, season one, and even got to pick a fight with “Dwight” on the court. I then returned for Sexual Harassment and Boys and Girls and had an absolute blast driving the forklift around the warehouse! I am hopeful that next season I might even get a Dundie. And just between you and me, I think Madge has a crush on Roy! (oops, did I let that slip, shame on me!)

Thanks again for the mention on your website!

All the best,

Karly aka Madge”

Backstage.com spotlights Jenna Fischer

Backstage.com spotlights a number of Emmy-deserving actors, including Ethan Suplee (My Name is Earl), Jennifer Morrison (House), Forest Whitaker (The Shield), and last but not least, Jenna Fischer.

An excerpt:

Whenever Pam does something sort of unlikeable, I get excited. I want her to be human. I find there’s more of a pressure in real life, because it’s really easy to be likeable and wonderful when a room of 12 very smart writers create you.

I like the insight Jenna gives on the writing behind the episode, Boys and Girls.
