The Office to become one-hour show?

Monday, April 30th, 2007

CNNMoney.com posted an article today on NBC Universal CEO Jeff Zucker. Toward the end of the second page of the article is an intriguing tidbit about The Office:

At NBC’s “upfront” presentation to advertisers on May 14, Zucker says he expects NBC to unveil five new programs — three dramas, one comedy, and one reality show — for its fall schedule. Zucker and Reilly are considering stretching The Office to an hour and canceling the original Law & Order.

Wanna star in seat18b’s latest video?

Monday, April 30th, 2007

seat18b, The Office fan video creator of vid hits such as It’s Getting Hot In Here and Kevin Malone: Nobody Does It Better, is creating an “Office Fandom Documentary” for her class project:

I’m taking a documentary film class this quarter, my first film class ever (whoot, whoot!) and for my final project one of the options is to make an actual documentary! … So I decided … to do a documentary about the office fandom!

That’s where you guys come in. I was wondering how many of you out there would be willing to film about ten maybe fifteen minutes of footage of yourself answering various questions (like a talking head from the office!) and showing your dunderiffic self. You would then send it to me and I would edit your answers with other dunderheads and come up with a short documentary about the office fandom and the relationship between television and the internet.

The deadline to get your video to her is next Tuesday, May 7th, so get on it!

A little bit of excitement in the OTCR

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

The OfficeTally Chat Room had a surprise visitor yesterday — a member of The Office crew! He was most gracious in answering questions from OTCR chatters about the show.

As he didn’t identify himself by name during his OTCR visit, I am respecting his privacy by not revealing it here. Just know that, as always, I did confirm that he really was who he said he was. I’m nicknaming him “Lighting Guy.”

His email to me said in part:

Yes, it was me in the chat room :-) It was fun meeting everyone in there and it’s great to have so much support from such loyal fans of the show!

You just never know who’s gonna show up in the OTCR … :)
