Final thoughts about my L.A. trip

As much fun as I had these past few days hanging out with some of The Office writers, I don’t want to minimize the seriousness of the strike. The writers are clearly weary, worried about their crew, and ready for everyone to get back to work. They do try to keep the mood upbeat, though, because they are, after all, comedy writers, and the funny just kinda flows out of them without much urging.

Sitting in on Rainn’s Spirit Awards meeting

After my picketing shift ended yesterday, Rainn Wilson was kind enough to let me sit in on a writers meeting for Film Independent’s Spirit Awards show, which he is hosting in Santa Monica on Saturday, February 23. (The show was granted a Writers Guild of America waiver, allowing the show to hire WGA writers.)

I had never attended a writers meeting, so I was pretty excited!

Jenna’s latest MySpace blog update

OfficeTally’s policy is to never report on the personal relationships of The Office’s cast and staff, but when Jenna Fischer posts an update to her MySpace blog entitled “Me and David Spade,” there’s just no getting around it. :)

Jenna Fischer’s Office Space

Atlanta’s entertainment magazine INsite talked to Jenna Fischer for its January issue:

“… I think so much of the show is about what we say when we’re not speaking. But also, like, it is a subtext show, you know? And I think it’s one of the challenges to, like, have a conversation with the character of Jim that’s very, you know, acceptable and appropriate, while all the while communicating to the audience that this is a person I have a huge crush on.”
